I looked at the clock for what seemed like the hundredth time this hour. But it wasn't my fault, it was taking ages to get there. 4:59, one minute until I can go home with my lovely partner. Its our movie night we have every Friday.
5:00
I stood up and grabbed my bag shoving papers in it. Who cares, I'll fix it later. Sam and Callen were the first to leave muttering a "have a good weekend" and "don't do anything I wouldn't do". Nell and Eric came scurrying down the stairs and were next to leave, "Where are you two going I. such a hurry?," I said noticing their close proximity and watched as their cheeks turning a nice Barbie pink," Whatchu doing this weekend?" might as well see how much they will give me. I wonder if they do partner bonding nights too? I'll have to ask Eric the next time we go surfing.
"Um yeah n-not much I guess ,were just going to dinner tonight at umm.." I watch as Nell looks to Eric for... reassurance? permission? Can't really tell.
"My- my moms house. Yeah, see, she invited us to you know, well, come over for dinner and I- I figured I should bring Nell along you know because that's what partners do... right? there's nothing going on between us, I mean pshhh what, that's against the rules... isn't it. If not we still are-"
Thank god for Nell cutting him off because the tension was getting thicker than the knot in my shoulder.
"Eric calm yourself," she turned from him and faced me," His mom invited him over and I'm going along because he hasn't seen his mom in a few years and we figured it would be less awkward. That's all." Nell looked to her watch and then raised her eyes from her 5'1 standpoint to my 6'2 figure, "We better get going though. We don't want to be late! Have a good weekend Deeks."
"You too Velma, see you later."
Ah finally. Left alone with the one true princess. God she is so perfect, I think it's illegal. She gorgeous and the way her hair falls and how she wears some makeup, but just to enhance her great features. And it's not even just her looks she always knows when I need some cheering up and her laugh, her laugh. It pulls me out of the dark places and into the sunshine and gunpowder filled ones. Although her mechanical laugh could use som-"Deeks? You ready to head out?"
