. Merlin’s POV

Merlin woke up this morning realising it had almost been a year since Morgana and her sister had gone missing and there had been hardly any problems at all.

Merlin took a breath of air before he struggled and climbed out of bed, wishing for once he could have a lie in but he knew it would never happen.

“Merlin” Merlin’s guardian Gaius shouted to him from the main part of his chamber....that never got old.

Merlin went over to his wardrobe and got changed into a red top, his brown jacket, his trousers, and boots and last but not least his neckerchief, he decided to wear blue today.

As he finished Gaius burst into the room already dressed in his usual clothing “Merlin did you hear me....oh you’re up and dressed” he said.

“Yes I am” laughed Merlin as he walked passed his guardian into the main part of the chamber.

“I left you your breakfast on the table” said Gaius.

“Thanks Gaius” Merlin said as he grabbed the bread from the table and headed towards the door but Gaius stopped him in his tracks when he spoke “You never leave this early”.

“Then it will make a change to wake Arthur up on time for once, about time he stopped getting a lie in” laughed Merlin as he smiled at his guardian, ate some of the bread and left the chamber.

Merlin had finished his food the time he reached Arthur’s chambers, he opened the door as quiet as he could and closed it gently behind himself.

Merlin looked into the darkened room, since Arthur’s curtains were still closed. It was Merlin’s job to do that, just like every other chore Arthur could think off.

Merlin went over to the curtains and yanked them open but for the first time in all these years the curtains fell off completely, making a loud thud on the floor as they hit the ground.

Arthur nearly jumped out of his bed from fright and as he got to his feet he looked from his servant to the curtains that were now on the floor.

"Merlin please tell me why I keep you as my servant" said Arthur harshly.

"Do you really want me to answer that" Merlin retaliated back.

"No point because it will just be a stupid remark because you are a complete idiot" said Arthur.

"Least I am not a prat" said Merlin as he shoved passed Arthur to pick up the clothes on the floor.

"Get this place tidy, we will have a visitor soon" said Arthur.

"Who" asked Merlin.

"Sire Pushly" said Arthur.

Merlin burst out laughing only to get hit by a cup on the head.

"Did I tell you that you are a dollop head" said Merlin as he rubbed his head.

"Shut up Merlin" said Arthur.

“Fine” said Merlin clearly not too bothered, by the Prince’s words.

“Also get those curtains fixed...now” said Arthur.

“Oh yeah, I just use magic too....”Merlin stopped as Arthur looked at him weirdly before he said “it’s called a joke, I’ll get them fixed...somehow” said Merlin as he chucked the clothes in his hands into Arthur’s wardrobe and went to leave the room.

“Where are you going” asked Arthur clearly not sure what his servant was playing at.

“I am going to get your breakfast before you beat my head off, oh and to find someone or something to fix those” said Merlin as he pointed towards the curtains.

“Oh good, on with you then, you don’t have time to waste” said Arthur.

“Of cause sire” said Merlin as he bowed and left the room.

Merlin had managed to find Gwen on his travels to the kitchen and she was more the happy to fix the curtains, which Merlin was very grateful of and even said he would make it up to her somehow.

Merlin was carrying Arthur’s plate of food with him towards the chamber with Gwen walking along side him.

“Are you sure about this Gwen, will King Uther be kept waiting” he asked her.

“Oh no, he will be fine” smiled Gwen.

 “Oh good, I don’t want to get you into trouble, Arthur will kill me” said Merlin as they arrived outside Arthur’s chambers.

“I may still kill you yet” said Arthur as they entered the room.

Merlin was about to ask how he knew what they had said but Arthur had already begun to answer his un-asked question.

“You two talk very loud out in the corridor, I heard you coming from a mile away it’s nice to see you Gwen” Arthur smiled.

“You too, what has you all dressed up” she smiled as she went over to the curtains.

“Arthur’s got his boyfriend coming over, his name is Sir Pushly” laughed Merlin loudly.

Gwen held back her laugh “Sir Pushly, right”

“He is not my boyfriend Merlin, so do not even go there besides he is important to my father and Camelot, so when he is around you need to know your place Merlin” said Arthur.

“I do anything you say sire” smiled Merlin at Gwen who grinned.

“Do you both think this is funny” said Arthur.

“Maybe a little bit” said Merlin as he finally decided to place Arthur’s food on the table. Arthur went over to his desk, sat down and began to eat his food but glaring over at Merlin who was just standing around.

“Oh no, Sir Pushly is here what we going to do” laughed Merlin.

Arthur looked over at Merlin with a worried expression on his face and dropped the piece of bread he was about to eat.

“I did hope I would get a beater welcoming, maybe the King’s son is not ready for the throne just as of yet then” said a strong male voice.

Merlin turned around to find a man wearing a knight’s uniform....oh great now he had done it.

“Sir Pushly” said Merlin trying to hold back his laugher but clearly it was not working.

“Something funny” said Sir Pushly getting closer to Merlin.

“No, not at all welcome to Camelot I hope your stay is most” but Merlin never got to finish as he pushed Merlin out of the way and headed over to Arthur.

“Maybe you need a new servant Arthur” said Sir Pushly.

“May....be “said Arthur glaring over at Merlin.

Merlin smiled back at Arthur with his cheeky grin before he did his apologetic look back at him. Merlin knew one thing, it was clear he was not going to like Sir Pushly one little bit.
