A montage of people trying to kill Cat thus began.
The next guy to walk up was strong, his muscles bulging almost grotesquely. Cat had to wonder if his arms even bent at the elbows anymore. His hair was a light blonde, the long strands just long enough to be pulled back into a ponytail. A very stubby ponytail.
His approach was head on.
“Apply directly to the forehead!” Everyone just looked at Cat. But she was used to the attention by now.
He charged her, dragging rocks and boulders along behind him. As he ran, the rocks all coalesced into one very big rock. The whole thing was probably half of Cat’s size. The huge rock dropped once more to the ground, creating a large creator, before he used his magic to lift it from the ground. It followed him as he ran, almost in line with his hands, but not quite.
When he got within ten feet of Cat, he picked up the rock, despite its weight. His muscles weren’t even visibly straining. He hefted the rock as hard as he could at Cat, aiming for her chest.
The rock whistled through the air as it approached, gaining speed both from its weight and from the guy’s magic still pushing it forward. Cat could almost see the magic pulsating around the mass, thin green tendrils still connected to the guy who had thrown it.
Cat raised her hand, palm out. The rock stopped, inches from her hand, and still spinning. Cat sent her own magic along the rock, counterclockwise to the spin. Her purple strands quickly overtook her opponent’s green threads. The green broke, the back lash of energy traveling along the thread until it reached the guy.
The guy cried out as the energy rushed back through him, opposite to the direction it was supposed to flow. There wasn’t any time to dissipate his magic back into his surroundings, so his body took the full brunt of the force. His nervous system especially felt it. Cat could practically hear his nerves crying out as the magic flowed like a nerve impulse through his system, overloading everything it touched.
The blonde guy dropped to the ground, and cried out, as his magic tried to help his body repair itself before the damage became permanent. Cat took a step forward to help, and the rest of the class took two steps back. Cat just shrugged. If they didn’t want her help, she didn’t need to give it.
The guy was left twitching on the ground.
