Hello, wattpaders! Don't worry, this is a very short author's note. As what I have promised you guys, I finally have the first chapter of a newly improved Falling in Love with the Millionaire. So, without further delay, i present to you *drumroll* Chapter 1!

It was raining. We were both drinking hot chocolates by the fireplace, watching The Vampire Diaries reruns. Dawn was approaching quickly and it tinged the sky different shades of red, orange and yellow. The grandfather clock was ticking softly and-

Anna Flemmings looked at the piece of paper she clutched. Who knew a piece of paper could bring back so much memories? Nothing I ever did could erase what happened. I was hyperventilating again, gasping while reaching for my inhalator. After taking a few deep breaths and taking medicine, it was as though nothing happened. I was used to this routine, having asthma attacks and taking pain killers. The doctor said that it would go away over time and it would occur less frequently than it did before but I honestly think that it was bullcrap. I rubbed my eyes for the nth time this morning, making it look puffy. The alarm clock read 5:30 am. My hair was sticking from all kinds of directions and I was still wearing my Care Bear pajamas.

I jumped off my bed, knocking Bean, my pug, making him jolt in surprise. I took a long shower and changed into my school uniform. It consisted of a maroon mini skirt, black knee-high socks, a black necktie and a gray vest with the school's logo on the upper right. I am currently in senior year and enrolled in Harvester Academy.

Yes I know what you are thinking. The prestigious Harvester Academy. Throughout its existence, this school has been able to produce exemplary and honorable graduates. It has made its way to become one of the best schools in the United States, along with many other prestigious schools. I mean who wouldn't want to become a student of this school? It has state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and outstanding faculty. Ever since I have transferred here, I couldn't help but feel pressured to be at the top and to always excel at everything i do. Whenever I feel frustrated, I would always ask myself what would my life be like if I weren't in this school?

I checked my alarm clock and it read 6:55. Wait, what? 5 minutes to go before 1st period starts? I hadn't realized that I had spent so much time lost in my thoughts. I hurriedly grabbed my backpack and dashed downstairs, two steps at a time. I just got whatever food I can see and stashed it in my bag, hoping that it would be enough to fill my appetite. I got in my Honda, which was secondhand and bought for a cheap price. I turned on the radio which was currently blasting Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses and adjusted the volume till it suited my preference. 

She's got a smile when it seems to me

Reminds me of childhood memories

Where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky

Now and then when I see her face

She takes me away to that special place

And if I stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry

I sung loudly and by the time the song finished, I was already at school. I parked my car to its usual spot, near the shady area by the fields, turned off the engine and got out of my car. I hurriedly gathered my stuff and walked to the hallway. As I expected it was deserted, except for the janitor if you count him. I went to my locker, which was at the farthest end of the wing. Lucky me, haha. I opened my locker door and saw that there was a piece of chocolate inside. Ahlia sure knows when to cheer me up. i quickly gathered all the things I needed and speedwalked going to my classroom. It was then when I just realized that I had bumped into someone and it was no other than Luke Conrad, the school's senior IT boy and son of our school's principal, Dr. Frank Conrad. If it weren't for that man,  I would never have entered the school in the first place.
