I am so very sorry that this took so long for me to write!!! I feel like an awful person, but I had a Chem’ test to study for so…….I hope you like it, even if it is short, and if you don’t like anything, do not hesitate to ask…it’s the least I can do… So here it is, hope it doesn’t suck too much:
You and Liam are walking in the park even though it's raining buckets. It's your favourite weather, and Liam loves bundling you up in your coat and scarf, so it's a win/win. You two have been going out for three years, and you've been secretly hoping for him to pop the question. So far though, nothing. But you don't mind, and anyway, being with him was enough for you.
You raise your face to the sky and slit your eyes against the water pouring from it. You've always found that the rain helped you think, and made the confusing feelings clearer. Slowly, you realise Liam isn't holding your hand anymore and you turn around. Seeing your boyfriend crouched on the ground, you laugh.
"What're you doing, Li'? Your pants are getting soaked." And they were, he was kneeling in a puddle after all. He ignores you, and you walk over to him. When you're right in front of him, he grabs your hands in his. Thinking he's going to stand up, you turn your face back to the sky. Instead, Liam stays where he is, silent, unmoving. You slowly look back down.
"Alexis, my beautiful angel, I love you so much that sometimes I forget to think. Like that time I was making you a cake and had it in the oven before I realised I forgot the flour," He laughs shakily. "You are so bloody beautiful and wonderful, and I don’t know what I'd do without you. You are the Jessie to my Woody, the pen to my page, the rain to my storm. I love you more than anything else on this earth and I want to spend the rest of forever with you," You raise your hand to your mouth and tears mix with the rain on your cheeks. "I know we're young, but what we have is so real. Alexis, will you do me the incredible honour of staying with me 'till the end of time?"
Liam pulls a small black velvet box from his coat and opens the lid. You nod and blink away the tears coming thick and fast. A huge smile fills Liam's face and he slips the most beautiful yet modest silver ring onto your finger. He kisses each of your fingers in turn, saving the fourth on your left hand for last.
"I love you, Alexis. You are the best thing that’s ever happened to me."
You sink to your knees beside him and thread your fingers through your...fiancé’s hair. He pulls you down on top of him and the two of you kiss on the wet grass until your teeth begin to chatter, and Liam drags you home with the promise of a long, hot bath.
