The School of Freaks

Chapter 5

Hi so I've had the worst case of writers block for the past few days. Anyway here the next chapter.

Lani's POV
A tie?!?! No way. They were evenly matched? Wait a second. Moment on the field. in sync the 3 pushed them selves off the ground. And stood to fight again.

Malia's POV
Owwwwwww. That really hurt. I swear to you I feel my insides were frozen and then boiled. Guess this is how you feel when you fight Luke and Aspen. I have almost no power left. By the looks of the guys they don't either. Our clothes were burned of frozen in some places. Our faces and bodies cover in dust and marks that are slowly turning in bruises.

With no power left I resorted to hand to hand combat. I raised my fists and got ready to fend off the 2 boys charging at me.

I slid on my knees to avoid their punches. I quickly got up and threw o few right jabs that managed to Aspen but missed Luke. I ducked under Aspens kick, leaving Luke open to take the blow. With my back turned I realized the 2 boys fighting without me. Hey! forget about me? I thought to myself. The energy in the air slowly but surely began to appear again. I gathered into one powerful blast. Aspen and Luke were too late to move out of the way. They fell to the ground and a second after, completely drained, I fell too. And this time I didn't get back up.

A week had passed since the duel. I had won but only by a hair. Any moment longer and I would have lost. Luke and Aspen had tied for second making them equal which was something both weren't very happy about. I earned the strongest but I didn't enjoy the attention. The tournament was canceled due to the amount of damage we caused to the arena. Yeah, the other students weren't to happy about that. They're still filling in the holes we made.

I sat by Lani, Alexis, and Reyna in my science class. My feet propped up on the desk and I twirled my pencil in between my fingers. The announcement system turned on. There was a loud noise then a voice was heard. It was a deep, cold, chilling voice.and it didn't belong to anyone I knew.

"All class E students come to your training room. I repeat all class E students come to your training room."

The system clicked off. It took me a second to register that the man said class E. I looked around the class room and saw the students whispering among themselves.

"Class E is real?"
"I thought it was a rumor."
"Who's in class E?"

The teacher stared wide eyed at me. When I could finally process the thought I abruptly stood up causing everyone's attention to turned me. Well now everyone knew. I ran out the classroom leaving my friends behind and sprinted for the training room.

I meet up with Luke and Aspen as we ran together to the room.

"That voice it was no one from school." Luke says.

"Whoever it was, they know about the room. And they wanted to expose us." I say to them while running.

"What do you mean?" Aspen asks.

"Why do you think they did in the middle of class and announced it to everyone?" I respond

"Everyone in our classes know we're in E." Luke says carrying on the conversation.

"We can't worry about that know."Aspens points out.

"He's right we have to figure it what's going on." I say. We get to the wall that hides the training room. I push open the door and we cautiously walk inside. The lights were all turned off expect for one light. And what I saw chilled me to the bone.

Lani's POV
What is going on? Is Malia a class E? Nothing makes any sense we tried talking to the teacher but she ignored us and looked deep in thought. Is Malia the only one? Is there more class E members?

Why didn't she tell me? Why would Malia keep such a big secret from me? From Alexis and Reyna? What is going on.

Hey Lani a voice in my head said. I realized it was Beth another class a. She's really good in telepathic communication. Which means talking with your mind. I quickly responded.

Yeah what is it? I say back to her hoping she knows more than I do.

Luke and Aspen just ran out of my class. Do you know what's going on?

Malia ran out of mine. And I was hoping you could tell me what's happening.

The deadly 3 are class E. Beth pauses. Why does that not surprise me?

I had to laugh at this. While Reyna and Alexis looked at me as if I were crazy. I pointed I my head and they seemed to get the jist of it.

The teachers aren't letting any of the students leave. Beth continues

Whatever's happening must be bad.

Very bad.

Malia's POV
O God
Aaron our head master laid on the floor. Unmoving and not breathing. His skin was ice cold and multiple cuts gushed blood. I tried to see his life energy. There was nothing. No flicker nothing he was long gone. He was dead.

"O God what do we do?" Luke says. His voice cracked a little. The pool of blood surround our mentor wasn't a pretty sight.

"I can try to see what happened." I say. The energy in the air should give me some clue. I'm hoping that the energy can make a picture I my head but I don't know. I simply closed my eyes and concentrated.

5 men all dressed in black surrounded Aaron. He had no problem taking them down. Than more came and more. They carried a gun with them and they aimed it at him. I watched it happen the energy, power and life was being sucked out of him. Their was no more power left inside him. He feel to his knees. The people holding the guns pulled their triggers. Out shot bullets like laser with power that wasn't normal. They easily cut through my mentors flesh. I had to turn away to avoid the horror.

"What did you see?" Aspen asks. I shake my head not wanting to talk about it.

"We need to tell everyone about this." I say. The boys grimly nod. School was cut short. All of the student were ordered to their dorms and we gather the teachers and staff to tell them about what happened. We had to tell the students but how? I had told them about what I saw. We weren't sure what they did. But we believe they are using the powers from the advanced humans to be created into weapons. The guns that they used draw away our power and our Life energy.

These people are called rebels or that's what the teachers called them. They were the people who wanted to rule after the radiation had cleared. But they were out numbered and the world chose to rely on each other rather than a power hungry leader. This was all before any students were born.

The rebels banded together and tried to force everyone to follow them and when this didn't work they went to hiding. There at once small numbers had grown.

If they needed us for our power to create weapons, they would kill us in the process. I don't know what they're using our power for but whatever it is must be bad very bad.
