Into the Void

Severus' POV

"Nagini, kill!" the snake charged and bit my neck. "Argh!" another attack followed by another and another. then finally it stopped. All i felt was intense pain. Nagini's venom did its work. i feel pain much worse than the cruciatis curse. i heard a pop. He's gone. i heard some footsteps coming near me. i forced my eyes to open and saw Potter and his gang. i started crying, "Take them." i decided to give them my memories. i'm dying anyway, and the boy needs to know the truth. i saw him get a phial form Hermione. "Wait, what? since when did i call her by her first name?" Potter put the phial by my cheek catching the memories. I saw Hermione crying. why is she crying? surely she should be happy i'm dying. "You have your mother's eyes." i told Potter. He stood up and went out with Weasley. Hermione went closer and sat down beside me with a towel on her hand. she put it on my neck, i winced in pain. i feel weaker by the second. my eyes started to close. with the remaining strength i have i whispered, "Goodbye Hermione." i think she heard me, because i think i heard her say, "Please don't go, we need you. I need you." and with that darkness engulfed me.

A bright light hurt my eyes. I squint to adjust to the brightness then heard a voice that i thought i would never hear again. "Hi Sev, its been so long" i turned around and saw her. "Lily? Is that really you?"
"Yes Sev, its really me." She laughed. I went down on my knees and sobbed, " Im sorry Lily! Im so sorry!" "I should be the one apologizing Sev, not you. We were best friends and i shouldn't have pushed you away just because you called me that horrid name. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have turned to the dark side. I missed you Sev, i miss my best friend." She ran to me and pulled me up. She wiped off my tears and hugged me like there was no tomorrow. The feeling was new to me, but i hugged her back. She pulled away and said "Its not yet your time to go." What? Not yet my time? I was killed by Voldemort's snake for Merlin's snake. No one survives her attacks. "But that's impossible! Nagini, she killed me. No one survives her venom." I exclaimed. She smiled at me and cupped my face and said, "She loves you Severus. And you love her too. She's called the smartest witch of her age for a reason. Don't doubt her abilities Severus." I looked at her doubtfully. Miss Granger in love with me? I highly doubt that! Who would love me? I'm the snarky bastard bat of the dungeons. The thought of being in love with me is absurd! I also am not in love with her. Am i? I mean, she has grown up to be a very attractive  young woman with curves in all the right places, her hair tamed to frame her face perfectly, her teeth shining everytime she smiles at me. Her eyes don't show fear or loathing. Wait, what? "I know what you're thinking Sev. She does love you believe it or not. And you love her too. You just don't know it yet. Give yourself another chance to love." " Even if that's true, how will i do that when im dead?" She giggled and said "She's giving you another chance to live. Take that chance Sev." After she said that, i felt a pull at my chest. Our surroundings changing from a bright room to a dark room and vice versa. "What's happening?" I asked her. She let go of me and said. "It's not yet your time. Give yourself another chance to love. Be happy. She's calling you back Sev. Go back to her. Stop fighting it." "But i dont want to leave you again Lil. I missed you so much." "Go Severus! You're my best friend. Be with the woman you love. Thank you for watching over my son. James and i thank you so much. Now go, go back to her." She started to fade away into mist until i was staring at nothing then a force pushed me and i stumbled back then, darkness.
