Back to School

I stared at the school building,three years attending the same school, and I still have first day jitters. The two story building itself was fairly old,in some places paint was peeling off and, you would still find previous students initials and some unpleasant chewing gum stuck under the tables.
"Josh, are you planning to stay in here for the whole day?" Dad said from the front of the car, looking at me in the rearview mirror, a slight glint of amusement in his eyes, "not that I mind but your Mum and I ,do have a job to get to, you know ."
I rolled my eyes at him, ruining the effect slightly by smiling. I opened the car door ,dragging my bag out with me and stepped out "Bye Dad, bye Mum! " I called to them as the door clicked shut. Mum rolled the window down "Take care Josh, and good luck, love you sweetie ".I glanced back at her smiling ,luck, something that has a tendency to stay away from me but I thank her all the same. Before I've even took a few steps into school, a buffy guy slams into me, almost knocking me down .Buffy turns and glares at me,"Watch where you're going, freak! "I gape at him,(freak, that's a new one) watching him as he throws one last scowl in my direction, before jogging up to his friend. Seriously?! Usually even my quite sparse luck stands at least a little longer than this."Welcome back" I mutter to myself ,shifting my bag-back slightly before letting the steady stream of kids lead me into school.
