The police lights reflect off the school windows.

"Who picked Hope up?" The male officer asks the teacher.

"Her uncle."

"Did he look like this man here?" He asks, pointing to James who sits behind me in the head teachers office. Zeke squeezes my hand next to me, his leg shaking.

"Yes. Hope said to me that her uncle was here and ran up to him." The teacher explains.

"And did she just walk off with this man?"

"She held his hand and walked off with him." She points out.

My daughter has been kidnapped. Tears stream down my face as i try to take in what's happened, my mind racing and my heart pounding.

"Are you going to search for her?" I ask, looking up at the officer.

"We aren't allowed to search until she's been missing for 24 hours."

"I knew i shouldn't have left her with you." Zeke hisses and storms out.

"Zeke, don't you dare!" I shout as i race after him.

"She wasn't safe, i knew it."

"I couldn't control this, Hope was safe. She just thought it was her Uncle James." I point out, tears flowing down my face as i touch his arm, he spins around and his eyes burn with hate.

Just like when he was on the drug 9 years ago.

"Zeke, please." I sob, looking away from his hateful eyes.

"No, Skye. You did this, this is your fault!" He shouts, marching off.

I collapse to the ground, pulling my knees to my chest, trying to get his hate filled eyes out of my minds.

"Skye? Hey, Kiddo. Its okay." My dad whispers as he sits next to me against the gate and wraps his arm around my shoulders.

"Mild anger problem, he was lying." I whisper.

"We'll find her." Dad promises.

"I've got to do something to keep my mind of this or I'll go crazy." I mutter.

"Go to the Industries. I'll meet you there in a minute." He orders. He stands up and offers me a hand, i take it and he helps me stand up.

I drive the car steadily, the road becoming a blur through my tears. My phone rings next to me, his contact photo showing up.

"You lied to me." I whisper, putting him on speaker.

"Im so sorry, i didn't want you to worry." He admits.

"Zeke, we're married, we are supposed to be partners. We don't lie to eachother." I argue.

"I know, Im so sorry."

"I still want you to see the specialist and keep getting help." I whisper.

"Okay, I'll do it for you, to get you back."

"You haven't lost me, Zeke. I'll always be there and i expect you to be there for me, not leave me when i need you the most." I admit.

"I will." He promises.

"I love you." I whisper.

"I love you too." He mutters.

I pull into Stark Industries car park and walk through reception. Everyone stops abruptly, looks at me and sends my sympathetic smiles. I nod and march through.

I don't want sympathy. Sympathy won't get Hope back. I jump into he elevator and swipe my card, it takes me to the design floor.

I step out into the white light.

"Hello, Miss Skye."

"Yep." I mutter and sit in the desk chair, spinning around. Trying to think of anything but...

Failing.

My phone vibrates next to me, I pick it up and notice a text from an unknown number.

'Go to the roof'

I push myself out of the chair in a flash and race to the elevator. Maybe its Hope. The elevator opens on the roof and i step out, the cool afternoon breeze brushing against my face.

A woman in a white dress stands on the edge of the roof, her blonde hair flowing down her back.

"Hello?" I ask.

She turns around to face me, her face pale and young, a baby wrapped in a blanket squirms in her arms.

Her eyes pure black, no pupil or colour. The whole of her eyes black. I pull my phone up my pocket a little and record.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"I am the theif." She whispers but her voice doesn't fit the words.

"The theif? No your not. You're too scared to show yourself so you're using someone else's voice." I explain.

"Clever, just like your daughter." The voice teases.

"Where is she?" I calmly ask.

"Safe." They reply.

The woman takes a step back, closer to the edge, closer to her death. The baby starts to cry in her arms.

"Stop!" I shout.

"I control what this mother does." The woman says, a smile spreading across her face.

The mind control pills.

I take a step forward and slowly reach my hands forward, taking the baby from her and pulling him to ny chest. I rock him and the woman doesn't respond.

"Why? Why are you doing this?" I ask.

"Because i can." They reply and she takes her final step back. Her body flies through the air and i squeeze my eyes shut, trying to control her body but Im pushed back.

Thump.

Her body hits the ground.

Tears escape my eyes as the baby in my arms joins in. I hit stop on my phone and dial 999.

"Police and ambulance please."
