A Day Well Spent - Chapter 5 (Part 1)

I awoke to the sound of my ringtone, Machu Picchu by The Strokes. I rolled over to the side of the bed and reached for my phone not even taking a glance at the caller ID. "Hello?" I groaned. "Morning Natalie, it's Alex." I shot up and cleared my throat. "Was just wondering if you wanted to go out for breakfast?" He says brightly. He'd obviously been awake for a while. "Hi Alex sorry you woke me up." I say laughing. He laughs too and apologises. "Okay, I'll be round in half an hour, room 507 is it?" He asks. I nod even though he can't see me, "Yeah see you then." I say. "Bye!" I shoot out of bed and head for the bathroom. I didn't even know the time but I was guessing it was pretty early for me. I soon put on my makeup and do some blended eye shadow with a nude shade of lipstick. I rummage around in my wardrobe and try and find something sexy but warm as it was like -50 degrees outside. I put on my black jeans, a low cut black cami top and my beige trench coat. My hair was left natural from last night which was just natural waves. I put on my black Chelsea boots too. I checked my phone which was charging. 9:30. He should be here any minute. I grab my phone and purse so I could get money out finally, and just incase he wasn't going to pay for my breakfast. I didn't want to be rude and just assume that he was, we'd only known each other a day. But it felt like a year, we'd held hands last night and he'd put his arm round my waist and hugged me like I was his.

I hear a sudden knock at the door and I skip over opening up. "Nat Jesus you're up early!" Says Matthew. My face slightly drops, "Oh Matt, what are you doing here?" I ask. He walks in and shuts the door behind him. "Ah just came to check up on you, hadn't heard from you last night. Why you all dressed up ready to go somewhere?" He says frowning. His eyes travel down as he analyses my outfit. "I haven't seen that much cleavage from you in fucking years!" He says laughing. "Eyes up." I say. He smirks, "What's this about anyway?" I stand there hesitating. Alex would be here any minute and Matt was here. What if he thought Matt was my boyfriend and got mad or got the wrong impression with him being round here like he'd slept. I panicked, "Listen Matt-" there was a knock at the door. Fuck. Matt turns around and swings the door open and Alex stands there leaning against the door frame with a bunch of flowers in his right hand. We all stand there in silence for a good 10 seconds before anyone speaks up. "Um, Natalie?" Matt says turning to me and pointing at Alex mouthing "that's fucking Alex Turner?" I can't help but laugh. Alex looks confused to say the least. "Wasn't really expecting that." Alex says. "Sorry this is my best friend Matthew, I wasn't expecting him this morning." I say scowling at him. "Ah, no worry!" He says smiling. He steps in and walks past Matt, "These are for you love." He says passing me the bouquet. Wow. "That's so sweet thankyou! They're beautiful!" I say smelling them. Alex smiles and I suddenly look up at Matt staring at us both in complete confusion. I quickly fill up a small vase and put the flowers in. "Mind if I use your bathroom quickly?" Alex asks. I nod and then remember that the bastard bathroom is through my bedroom. I sigh, "I'm really sorry but it's through my bedroom so if you don't mind just come this way." I say laughing. My bedroom actually wasn't too bad, it was tidier than usual. He goes in locking the door and I appear again to see Matthew still standing in the same position. "I'm so sorry I haven't explained yet." I say. He blinks and looks at me. "Okay this all makes sense now. I know why you asked me last night about Suck It And See." He says still slightly blown away. "Nat, you pulled Alex Turner!" He says walking up to me. He starts shaking me around and jumping up and down. "Do you realise how much this guy is worth? He must be a millionaire! He's from a fucking band!" He says almost getting more excited than me. I laugh and try to calm him down, "Matt stop he might hear you!" I say grabbing him at the wrists. He stops squirming and smirks looking me up and down, "Look at you." He says. I shake my head as I hear the bathroom door open again. Just as Alex comes round the corner Matt shouts, "Natalie's a virgin." And runs out of the room down the corridor. Alex starts laughing and I shake my head again, "Just ignore him."
