The room was extremely cold, causing the poor boy to rub up and down his arms. It was so quiet in the interrogation cell, it was making him more nervous than he already was. What was taking them so long? Shouldn't someone have come in already? Maybe they were summoning the council to discuss what they'd do to him. That seemed even worse than if those two cops from earlier came in to yell at him, they couldn't really believe that he would do such a thing. He'd never considered draining anyone, Black was sure he wasn't even able to.

As the girlish-looking boy's eyes began to water again, on the verge of overflowing, he heard the door open and his head went up. Black was greeted with a familiar, but slightly worried, face which instantly put him at ease.

It was Silver.

Silver who had been a constant support to Black and Pink throughout the process of getting accepted into the Rainbow Sector. Who was now here to get him out of the dark, too bright room.

He was handsome for a color his age, couldn't have been over forty years old. His hair was short and orderly, slicked back with not even baby hairs sticking out of place. Silver had strong, chiseled features that made him look like someone who was meant to be in charge. His tall, built frame took up the doorway for a moment before he moved to the side to let a police officer walk who looked a little nicer than her coworkers in ahead of him. Black swallowed but tried not to let himself become anxious, he was sure that Silver wouldn't let anything bad happen.

The officer, Magenta, undid the cuff on the dark color's wrist, offering a small smile before she moved back to let him stand. "Everything's been cleared, up. We'll have to have you come in for some questions but you can go for now. We'll have you sign some papers out front then you're free to go," she explained as she led Black towards the door.

As soon as Black was close enough he felt Silver's hands go out to rest on the smaller boy's slim shoulders. "I'm so sorry that happened, are you alright?" Silver's deep, rather fatherly sounding voice adding another sense of comfort to the dark color and he smiled as he looked up at the older man.

"Yes, thank you, Mister Silver. Sorry you had to come all the way from the Palette, especially for me,"

"Nonsense, I wouldn't dare let my favorite color have to work through this sort of thing all on their own. They don't know you like I do so, unfortunately, they jumped to conclusions."

Silver sounded upset at the fact, which Black was sure he was.  Whenever anyone would infer that Black would have been a danger to the Rainbow Sector, Silver would be visibly upset and have to take a few breaths, assuring that the boy wouldn't be. His record was clean and he'd done everything he could to be a good color in his community until he moved into the Bright Sector with Pink.

"But that's against the law and you know that,"   one of the council members, Amber, had huffed and Silver simply replied with, "Because Pink saw the same potential I see in Black."

Black could never have believed someone would say something like that about him unless he had been right there. His color had always made others look down on him before they met him. On top of that he had always been teased and harassed for dressing like a girl, told that it was wrong and he must have been an idiot or some kind of deviant. It wasn't that he saw himself as a girl, he knew he was a boy, he just really adored feminine clothing and how they looked on him. Black felt awkward in masculine attire so he put up with the harsh words he often received for a long time.

But then Pink came along.

Black was six years old and had been working to pass out food to any of the homeless in the Dark Sector when Pink stumbled into him. The bright color had gushed over how cute Black was and about how he'd gotten lost exploring. Black, worried about the slightly taller boy, led him back to the edge of the Bright Sector.

"Come back here tomorrow, okay?" Pink chirped, grinning wide as Black played with the end of his shirt shyly.

"Why?"

"Cause you look fun," Pink answered looping his arms around the smaller boy to wrap him in a warm hug. The dark color had squeaked at the sudden embrace, wiggling a bit until Pink released him with a pout.

"Aren't you scared that I might try to drain you?" Black huffed as he fixed the skirt he had on, tucking a lock of his long, loose hair behind his ear. The question was followed by a loud laugh from the bright color, shaking his head.

"No way. Best friends wouldn't do that."

Since that day the two had become nearly inseparable, always playing together during their free time. Pink was constantly helping the dark color pick out new clothes and chasing off anyone who tried to make fun of him for his choice of attire. Black was a faithful companion who was willing to go along with just about anything the bright color wanted to do.

As they grew they spent more and more time together and soon, when the pair were both sixteen, Black moved into the Bright Sector with Pink. It was illegal, it was a long and tedious process  to be switched from a Sector and Pink and Black didn't want to wait that long.

Pink's parents were almost never home, always on business trips to the Palette and other countries so they never noticed how Black never really left their home.

Black smiled at the memory of it all, walking alongside Silver who was finally starting to calm down. The glares towards Black were a little obvious but he did his best ignore them as he settled against the front desk and signed a few forms to fill out his information. They told him they'd call him soon to tell him to come down and question him on what had happened. It seemed like Silver had been pretty mad to get Black off the hook for now.

Silver smiled sweetly when Black finished, offering his arm which the dark color gladly took as he was led outside and into the parking lot.

Sitting in the lot was a sleek silver car that easily stood out against the cop cars that littered the area. Silver was a gentleman so he moved to open  the passenger side door for the dark color, Black letting out a small thank you before the door closed. The older color moved, settling into the driver's side and starting the car up.

"Let's get you home."
