⠀⠀Crash! The sound of thunder echoed across the land. The screaming of gales of wind crashed and slammed against trees and other obstacles in their paths. The rain came down in a groundbreaking assault. The hut of assassins was quiet and empty, except for the whining and screaming of a teen and the hissing of a young woman.
⠀
⠀⠀"Unhand me you peasant! I am the prince! I'll have your eyes ripped out of that goddamn face of yours!"
⠀
⠀⠀Illusion spat and threw the prince down onto the ground. "Shut up!" She screeched. "Do you ever just shut up!?" She snarled and whipped out a sharp edged knife, stabbing it into the sopping wet ground in front of the assassins' prisoner.
⠀
⠀⠀Everyone was out. They were calming the citizens down and restoring order to the renewed kingdom. The tyranny had ended, but the chaos hadn't. Storm had sent out Reikan and Illusion out to help with outskirt towns. Teiboku went with the sorcerer to bring calm to the poor in the slums.
⠀
⠀⠀Illusion had gotten back to headquarters early, and now was the time to finish things. A long running vendetta was to be ended today. "C'mon," she growled. "Pick up the damn knife. Fight me to the death. I'll kill you. And Blitz will have been avenged. I'll send you to the burning depths of hell."
⠀
⠀⠀Kenshin looked at the glint of the knife. He remembered what had happened earlier last night. The little girl had came to him with a certain tone of sadism, telling him either to kill himself or die by the townspeople. Kenshin had used the little dagger she'd given him, and Storm came to a decision. He would be handed to the people of the kingdom as soon as order was restored.
⠀
⠀⠀"Pick it up!" Illusion screeched. You might not have been able to tell, but the tears were falling. The rain dripped off of her face and splashed into the ground. "I'll avenge Blitz!"
⠀
⠀⠀"It's not my fault..your stupid..fucking..son died!" Kenshin gave a war cry and charged at Illusion with the knife. It wasn't Storm, but it was his second least favorite of the group of assassins that had ruined his life. "Die peasant! Go see your damn Blitz again!"
⠀
⠀⠀"Don't you speak his name!" The girl spun, dodging the swipe. She flung a small dagger at Kenshin's face, stabbing it into his left eye, twisting and pulling back.
⠀
⠀⠀He screamed and stumbled backwards, putting his left hand to his eye. The fury in his right still shined like that of a dragon awakened during hibernation. "Go to hell!" He screamed, rushing the assassin again. Unrelenting swings struck out as Illusion dodged each attack.
⠀
⠀⠀"Act like a true warrior and fight, not these messy attacks!" Illusion snarled, swiping her knives across Kenshin's right arm. "You stupid piece of shit!"
⠀
⠀⠀"Shut up! Shut the fuck up!" Kenshin rushed Illusion again, and this time, the assassin held back nothing.
⠀
⠀⠀Her first knife stabbed the prince in the shoulder, making him drop his weapon. The second slashed deep into his femoral artery. The third went into his side. As the prince slumped to the ground on his knees. Crimson coated the wet ground, running around into the nearby puddles. The rain fell silently on both, soaking them to the bone.
⠀
⠀⠀"You want to know why you've lost?" Illusion asked in a dark tone. "It's because you didn't control your anger. No..you let it control you. Just like you did when you killed your own father..you son of a bitch."
⠀
⠀⠀"Yeah..and you're the daughter of one," Kenshin snarled, wheezing now. An ripped and untreated femoral artery would cost anyone their life. They'd bleed out within the minute.
⠀
⠀⠀"Shut your mouth!" Illusion flew her arm down, ready to stab the prince in the head and finally end him. Instead, the prince surprisingly gripped her arm and twisted it around, sending her own knife deep into her chest. The blood sprayed, and the assassin coughed, spitting up red liquid in the process. She stumbled back and wobbled on unsteady feet, her hands clutching her upper chest region.
⠀
⠀⠀"Too bad you'll..be with me in Hell..and not..your son," Kenshin gargled, finally falling on the ground. His chest rose once and stopped.
⠀
⠀⠀Out in the capitol, Storm looked over at Teiboku. He had a dark face of anguish.
⠀
⠀⠀"Hey Storm, what's up?" The young assassin asked.
⠀
⠀⠀Storm stared down at the ground with shaking eyes. "I..feel a disturbance."
⠀
⠀⠀Reikan looked up at the dark sky, the rain falling on his face. "Something isn't right," he told himself aloud. "Something happened.
⠀
⠀⠀The assassin, now on her knees, felt the hot tears run down her face and mix with the rain and blood. "Blitz..I'm sorry," she cried. She looked over at Fennel, who stood there, wide-eyed. She was trembling as the rain drenched her from head to toe. "Fennel.." As Illusion fell to the ground, she gave her last words. "I'm sorry..Fen. Sorry..you had..to see that..."
⠀
⠀⠀Fennel had seen the whole fight play out. She'd seen it all. She had finally had the courage to step out as soon as the prince died from his wounds.
⠀
⠀⠀"I-Illusion..?"
