<Third Person POV>
"Hey, (name)! Has the package arrived yet!?" Your brother, Alfred, shouted from the doorway as he got home from elementary school.
"Don't ask me, ask dad. I don't give a fuck about Amazon packages." You replied in a monotone voice, working on your Biology homework.
"Daddy said you shouldn't curse."
"Oh shut up, he curses all the time at Uncle Francis." Though you acted like you didn't care about the package, you were wondering when it would come. Yes. You were waiting for the last of the Halloween decorations- the hanging corpse.
At first, your dad, Arthur, had opposed on getting it, but you and Alfred wanted it so badly- and you got it.
You daydreamed about the faces and reactions of bratty kids that dared to walk into the property.

"I'm home, loves!" Your dad had come home. Alfred rushed over to him, seeing the package in his dad's hands. He ripped open the cardboard, but there was no corpse there. Only...
A lamp the shape of a ghost. The two of you stared at your dad in disbelief, while he tried to explain.
"Well, the corpse looked kind of scary, and there might be claims from the neighborhood, so I chose a less scarier lamp."
"But daaaaaaaaaaad, we told you that we wanted a corpse really bad!" Alfred whined, but of course, he soon went outside with dad to set up the lights and whatnot. You sighed as you resumed your homework.
~Godforsaken Time-skip~
It was late at night. You were listening to music from your phone, slouching on the couch.
"Love, would you like to come see the lights?" Your dad interrupted your free time as you slumped more into the couch.
"Later." You gave him a short reply. Though you wanted to see the lights, your pride for the corpse kept you from getting you up.
"Aww, don't say that." He came beside you and pulled you up. You were dragged outside, and you were pretty surprised at what you saw. The lights were illuminating in the dark, and the chirping crickets were a perfect match.
"I never knew that decorations would be this pretty. I thought it would be a ripoff."
"Well, they aren't."
Two silhouettes stood beside as they walked into a house.
