*Scotts pov*
Scott you have to be ready by now" my friend, Avi ,sighed from behind the bar.
I was here on a blind date that he had set me up on and I was no where near ready to go and meet this supposedly perfect guy. Well , the 98583rd 'perfect guy" Avi had taken pride in finding for me . His name was Mitchell apparently, Mitchell Grassi. His name alone sounded more posh and fancy than I'd ever be. I had been worrying if I was over or underdressed for the date since i was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans , a white polo and a jacket but avi had told me it was perfectly fine. I didn't believe him.
"I don't man maybe I should just go-" Avi cut me off.
"He's sat on the 3rd table to the left, now go" he said putting his hands on my shoulders , spinning me and pushing me towards my date. I found the table where he was sat alone, scrolling through his phone. He had a little frame and was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans with an oversized red flannel shirt that looked as if it it would even be too big on me.
"M-Mitchell?" I stuttered.
"Mitch" he corrected me, standing up to give me one of those awkward "I don't know you at all but let's act like we've known eachother for years" hugs. I hugged back before sitting down opposite him and he put his phone away back in his bag.
"Sorry" I said.
"I'm guessing you're Scott?" He asked.
"Shit sorry I didn't even introduce myself , but yeah I'm Scott" I laughed nervously and put my head down into my hands "you look nice, by the way".
"Thank you" he smiled"so do you". I saw avi walk past us a couple of times and he would occasionally smirk at us or wink at one of us before carrying on with his order. A few minutes later a waitress, who I think was new since I'd never seen her around before, came to take our order.
"Hello boys what can I get for you two today?" She asked cheerily, already begging to make heart eyes at me. Ew.
"I'll have tofu" Mitch stated "Scott?".
"Steak" I replied "and a bottle of champagne".
"Celebrating anything?" She asked.
"No" I replied "not today".
"Ah well nothing a bit of champagne can't fix anyway, is there anything I can get you guys?". She was overly happy and her everything about her body language was screaming "flirt".
"No thank you" Mitch smiled politely but I could already tell he didn't like her.
"Nothing at all?" She asked , leaning forward to expose her cleavage a little bit which made me feel physically sick.
"No" Mitch replied, more bluntly this time.
"Not even a number or two?" She looked down at me this time, acting as if my date wasn't sat opposite me and tried to hand me the peice of paper in her hand. I didn't doubt for a minute that it had her number on it. Before I had the chance to reply Mitch grabbed the piece of paper from my hand and shoved it back in her direction.
"Sorry,he's here with me".
"I can see that" she replied obliviously .
"As in mine, my boyfriend" he said sarcastically. My eyes went wide and I nearly spit out my drink in shock of what he'd said but I managed to keep my cool for enough time before the waitress walked away. Mitch began laughing at me as I cleared the little bit of water up that I'd spilt.
"I didn't expect you to react like that".
"I didn't expect you to call me your boyfriend after sitting with me for 20 minutes" I retaliated , it wasn't said in a negative tone of voice though. We both knew it was a joke .
"20 minutes can do a lot for a man" he winked. I giggled again and his face lit up with a little smile.
"Mitch!" I laughed.
"Hey at least you aren't goanna get stuck with Mrs happy go lucky texting you every 2 minutes" he smiled .
"Thank you" I rolled my eyes.
By the end of date everything had gone well between me and Mitch , we really hit it off and Avi seemed quite pleased with himself as he watched us leave hand in hand together.
"Thank you for a great night" he smiled and reached up to hug me properly as we were walking up to his door "do you wanna come in for a bit?".
"Will it be any trouble to your room mate?" I asked him. I'd previously found out he lived with his high school best friend, Kirstin.
"She'll probably be asleep" he shrugged unlocking his door "coming?".
"Might aswell" I replied.
"Don't sound so enthusiastic about it" he replied teasingly.
Mitch was right and Kirstin had gone to bed so it was likely she had no idea I was there . The both of us were currently snuggled up on his couch watching a documentary but he was slowly falling asleep.
"You look cute when you're tired" I told him.
"Do not" he argued. I ruffled his perfect hair and he hit my arm "hey!" He tried to ruffle mine back but was too short which just resulted in him hitting my shoulder instead. He leant his head against it in annoyance and sighed. He looked up at me and met his gaze with my own, looking like he was in a little world of his own he completely zoned out.
"Earth to Mitch" I said, waving a hand in front of his face.
"Oh hey" he said trying to snap himself from his trance.
"Thinking about anything?".
"Can I uh .. Can I kiss you?" He asked nervously, ready to back away instantly if I had said no.
"Of course you can" I replied, pulling him up so his lips met my own . He pulled away smiling harder than I had seem him smile for most of the night.
"Maybe I should let avi set me up more often".
"I don't think you're going to need him to".
