"You want me to what?" I asked.
"Just give an interview of how you became a knight, your training." A man told me.
"Ok, well where do I start?" I thought. "Well it all started 5 years ago."
I was just apprenticed as a knight. I had to leave home to go train in the mountains. I was told that I would train with 3 other Knights. The journey was horrible. The carriage wheel broke. We ran out of food. I accidentally ate some poison berries. My carriage was attacked by bandits. The carriage fell into a lake. So I had to literally walk 30 miles and then climb a mountain. While under the effects of poison berries." I said, remembering every gruesome step. "When I finally reached the top of the mountain I saw 3 other carriages were already there. Each one was a different color. Green, blue, and red. Mine was orange, and at the bottom of a lake. I saw the king standing in the entrance. The king! He was sitting patiently as if waiting for me. And I was late. I walked up to him.
"You must be the last knight." He told me. I only smiled. "What happened?" He asked.
I explained my insane journey to him. He sat silently and then began to slowly nod. "I understand." He said. "Ok, go inside there should be a suit of armor on the table. Put it on, and go into the courtyard."
I went inside and put on the suit of armor. I finally understood the point of my cart color. My suit was orange. There must have also been a red, blue, and green suit.
I entered the courtyard to see 3 other Knights talking. Sure enough, the colors where what I had guessed.
"He finally arrives!" The red one yelled. He got up and walked over to me. "What took so long huh? I don't like waiting." He sneered.
Mental note #1: avoid the red knight.
"Red!" The king was watching. He backed off immediately.
The blue knight walked over to me. "Ignore him. He's just a show off." He said, motioning over to the red knight doing air karate.
A man in grey armor walked into the courtyard. "Red! What are you doing! Barbarians attack the castle with swords, bows, and bombs, your little dance is just going to kill you!" He yelled. Green just laughed from the corner of the courtyard.
"Alright! Everyone into the center, your getting your first swords! Training starts today!" He yelled so all 4 of us could hear.
He handed Green, a laser sword. He handed Blue an ivy sword. He handed me a normal pointed sword. Red chuckled.
"Looks like you aren't as 'special' orange." He whispered to me.
The grey knight cleared his throat to get red's attention, then stepped on his foot. "OWWWW!" He yelled.
"Can't handle me stepping on your toe, imagine when a thief stabs you in the arm." Grey said. "Now are you going to stop jumping around like a fish, I can give you your sword." He said.
Red stopped jumping, and slowly limped into line.
"This one is special, made to fit your personality." Grey said.
Red looked at us all, even with his helmet on, you could he had a grin as wide as the moon.
Grey handed him a sword, shaped like a chicken.
All 3 of us broke down in laughter.
"Shut up!!!" Red yelled.
"Alright, practice your swordsmanship. Fight each other." Grey said, walking away to a chair.
Blue walked up to me.
"You vs. me?" He asked.
"Anything to get away from red." I said.
About 3 hours of fighting took out all of our energy.
It was 5-6 blue was winning. I looked over at green and red fighting each other. Red was swinging hard, and aggressively. Green looked calm, blocking all his attacks with ease. It didn't look like he was using any energy at all. Red put his sword down for a second, to breath. His mistake. Green used that 1 second opening and put his sword right against his armor. Right on the chest. Red screamed in rage.
"Your mistake." Green said, barely in a whisper. "You used all your energy in your swings. You want quick light swings."
"I know." Red snapped.
Grey got up, and yelled, "ORANGE VS GREEN. WINNER GETS A SHIELD."
What! I can't have heard that right. It should be blue, he won more than me. Grey was staring at me. Green had already taken his spot. Well no protesting. I took my place. Grey pulled out a bow, and walked up to us.
"As soon as I fire, you 2 begin fighting." He said loading the bow with an arrow he brought with him.
I gulped. I was terrified.
Grey fired the bow.
Green swung his sword right at me. I blocked it. He swung again. Blocked it.
Wait. These were the same moves as red, just a little lighter.
I just copied what he did against red. I was getting the hang of it. I pushed him back. He lost his balance. I saw my chance. I dived straight for him, and actually got him. Right on the chest. I pinned my sword against his chest, careful not to actually break the armor and hurt him. I heard clapping. I looked and saw blue clapping. Red just looked away his arms across his chest. Grey was surprised.
"Here you go. As promised." He said hanging me a shield.
First thing. I had no experience with a shield at that time.
Help.
Anyway, about 2 weeks later, we all had training with sword, shield, bow, and bombs. But that day was different for all of us. We learned magic that day. It started off as any other day. We woke up, red tried to make a fool of green but just made a total fool of himself. We all went to the courtyard, the normal. But grey wasn't there. We looked around.
"Over here!" Blue had yelled. Grey's armor was facing the back wall.
"Grey?" I said.
We turned him around to see the most horrific sight ever. An arrow protruding from his chest.
"When I find who did this I'm gunna!" Green started to yell, and as he did, his hands turned a light green. He shoved his hands forward, and a splash of poison blasted out.
"Wha.." He started to say, when another arrow struck him down.
"Scatter!" I yelled. I knew exactly what these were. Bandits. They all jumped down from their hiding spots at once. "Go! And don't forget your training!" I yelled. I ran straight to green, barely breathing on the ground. I removed the arrow and started to push on his chest to get air in. He coughed and then got up. "For him." I said, green nodded. We all fought. After about 10 minutes we were all shooting splash attacks of everything. I shot fire, blue ice, green poison, and red lightning. After a while they were either dead, or all fled.
"What now?" Blue asked. "Grey's dead. The king abandoned us."
I knew it was true. The king watched this place like a hawk. He could have sent reinforcements.
"The king hasn't left us. We travel to the castle and confront him." I said.
"Agreed." Green said.
Red mumbled in agreement.
We walked to the castle.
That was the end of my training.
The man I was talking to took notes.
"Thank you. You can go now" he said.
"Thank you." I said.
