At assembly, Heavenlee, her friend came to sit with Rose. We argued over whether or not to sit on the edge of the bleachers. Finally, we agreed to disagree and she went to sit with the new girl and Rose sat on the edge of the bleachers. The principal, Mrs. Lancaster, started off giving out the normal morning news and announcements, you know, blahblahblah club is having there first meeting, or someone is selling pizza for lunch in the cafeteria this week, but then she started to introduce new teachers.
There were two new teachers. First, there was Ms. Heather. She had long strawberry blonde hair that fell to her stomach, and was pin straight. She wore brown glasses that reflected the interested glances from everyone in the crowd. Up next was Mrs. Walters. She had her dark brown hair combed back into a bun, and she smiled nervously, her eyes sparkling. So that's what her name is, Rose thought to herself.
Everyone started talking. "Did you see how strict she looked," and "I wonder if she's nice," could be heard all across the gym.
"Everyone settle down please," asked Mrs. Lancaster.
"Now, I will begin listing all of the classes, starting with Grade 9A.
Mrs. Lancaster began listing a whole bunch of names, including some boys from her old school, Alder and Cayden.
Ok Rose, just listen for your name as she calles out the 9B class."Willow Wright, Rose Woods..."
There's my class. Hmmm, 9B, huh. I wonder who's on the list this year.Every year, students got to pick their teachers, which ones they want to keep, and which ones they don't. For the past three years, Rose has had the same three core teachers, which are always on the list, because of her special grade level. Rose had always been smart, even when she didn't use her chip, so for the past few years, she has been transferred to the grade above the one that actually matches her age, so the Board of Education had let her pick three core teachers she wanted to have all the way through school.
After assembly was done, Rose headed up to Mrs. Lancaster, to ask for a list of the teachers she could choose from. This was the list:
Mrs. Lancaster
Mrs. Oak
Mrs. Walters
Mr. Camden
Mr. Kandry
Mr. Church
Mrs. HeatherOk, who will I choose?
After about 5 minutes of thinking, she chose her teachers.
Mrs. Lancaster
Mrs. Oak
Mrs. Walters
Mr. Camden
Mr. Church
Mrs. HeatherThen, as she left the gym, she picked up a slip of paper, which had her locker number and combination on it.
