Chapter 13: The bad news

The tears streaming down my face as thorn lifted me higher and higher into the sky. On the back of the great beast we headed back to Annabelle's knowing that she would not be there. Up above the clouds it was peaceful and comforting to know that she'd be up here somewhere watching over us i have a strong feeling she still with us. As we landed in the clearing of the forest next to the little hut it all........ just well seemed dark. The place wasn't the same. It was all dark and gloomy and the boys knew something was up and jack was nowhere to be seen. Lucy came running up to me and started jumping on me and licking me all over. Morris came up to me and asked "who is he?" in a deathly tone "oh this is Michael and his Pegasus Sofia I met them in the woods when the incident happen" I said as I was trying to hold back the tears. The concern on Morris's face grew "what happen?" He asked without delay Michael put a hand on my shoulder and tornado lifted his great giant head and growled "Annabelle was killed......" And as soon as the words left my mouth I was crying again. Morris pulled me into a firm but warm embrace and cradle me head as I cried. Charlie came running as soon as he saw me crying "oh please don't cry Jessie" he said in a soft silky tone and he gave me a kiss on the check and gave me a hug. Gunther was next "come on Jessie cheer up we're gonna kick whoever did its ass!" He said and ruffled my hair. I laughed. "Stop it it took me hours to get it to look like that" I said between giggles. 

"I'm sure it did" said a familiar voice I turned around and jack and ice fire were behind me. "Jack!" I said as I ran up to him and hugged him "I heard a damsel in Destress and I came to her aid" he said with a sly smile on his face "oh shut up" I said as I playfully punched him. Tornado saw Morris getting jealous and came up to me and and pushed jack out of  the way with his powerful long red next and growled "woah big boy settle down what's gotten into you?" I said as I scratched the scales on his head. "He's just being protective of his masters girlfriend" Gunther muttered I blushed I completely forgot Morris was my boyfriend and here I am falling for jack. Thorn looked at me and knew what I was thinking so he screeched and the dragon backed off shaking it's head to try and get the ringing to stop. Thunder heart started howling and didn't appreciate the noise. Flame was fine she was a bird like thorn and understood the message see looked at me and nodded her great flame wings spread open and with one gust of air she was in the sky and thorn was soon to join her "hey flame come back here!" Gunther called out and I heard a chuckle like noise coming from her  I laughed.  We left the boys with Michael so they could get to know each other. I held tightly onto thorns saddle as we were going faster and faster.

We were so close to the trees I could touch the tops of the greenest leaves. Flame looked at me and invited me to come on her back she was as big as thorn but way more streamline I jumped from thorns back to hers and held on to her soft yellowy orange feathers we landed at the clearing were Annabelle laid. I knew what she was going to do me and thorn stepped back and she set herself on fire and screeched she started shooting fire all around them and did sort of a fire dance to show respect to the last unicorn rider. The only thing that was left was the unicorns horn she picked it up between her powerful yellow talons and place it carefully in my hands "you want me to keep this?" i asked she slowly lowered her head as to say yes. Thorn looked at me with his golden eyes he was crying that was the horn of his friend, i stroked the soft little feathers on his head and gave him a hug my arms couldn't fit around him cause he was so big. I stood up I looked at the charred and ashy ground and admired the phoenixes masterpiece. I looked more closely and it was a warning sign whoever did this was gonna pay big time.
