❝ And I can easily understand
How you could easily take my man
But you don't know what he means to me, Jolene ❞🌑🌑🌑
Let me tell that in the past ~24 hours I read around 60% of Ariana's published books. She asked me to review one of her stories and I wanted to read all of them in order to choose my favourite.
And here I am, reviewing "Jolene", a Sergio Ramos fanfiction.
I chose this book because I particularly liked the plot. Isabella writes letters to Jolene begging her to leave her husband because it hurts her to share him with another woman. Isabella feels insecure, she compares herself with Jolene and keeps thinking that she's nothing next to her. The fact that Sergio has stopped loving her makes all even worse. She continues begging until Sergio ⚠️spoiler alert⚠️ leaves her and their soon-to-be-born child. Then she thanks Jolene for stealing her man and prays for both of them to suffer as she has suffered. ⚠️spoiler alert⚠️
I loved how Isabella suffered and begged Jolene desperately. At the end she assumed that Sergio desired Jolene more than her and she gave up and wished them all the worse with bitter words. Isabella is such a human character. Weak and human.
I would enjoy a book in which we can see the action. You know, dialogues, described actions, etc. Jolene seducing Sergio, Isabella crying in their bed while he's making love with the other woman. But that's not the kind of books Ariana writes.
She's a peculiar type of writer. She doesn't describe thing as simply as they are, "her hair was red", more like "her hair was the colour of the late sunset, when the sky is about to shut down in darkness but still want to stay a little bit alive".
Her stories use to be so close to reach the "artistic masterpiece" title it makes me cry. Not everyone is capable of understanding them. Nor I was. You have to take your time and appreciate the details between the lines, but don't be too analytical.
It's simple but complicated, as her stories.
I liked all of them even though I don't consider them my favourites. I felt as something was missing and they didn't make me reach that point of exhaustion I search while reading a book as good as hers. Matter of preferences, I guess.
This is my first review, hope you liked it, foreverpique
