The thrum of the guitars and drums beat through Castiel and he closed his eyes, soaking in the music. People around him in the bar were jumping, dancing and even a few people were screaming. The band on the little stage was playing a particularly fast song, the guitars screaming and drums booming with an almost hypnotic beat. Beside Cas, Balthazar bopped his head casually to the music, occasionally taking long drags from his cigarette.

"Good band, eh?" He said, turning to Cas with a smile. Cas nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, they're pretty killer."

"Glad I dragged you out here, then?" Balthazar said around his cigarette. He waggled his eyebrows as Castiel laughed quietly.

"I guess. I needed a break from all that school work."

Balthazar chuckled and turned back to the band just as the song ended.  The musicians on stage began to shuffle about, readying themselves for the next song. As they did, the lead guitarist stepped forward, winking at the swooning girls in the front. A few of them blew kisses at him, and he reached out, catching them in his hand and stuffing them into the pocket of his ripped jeans as if they were a tangible thing. Castiel could definitely see why, the man was really handsome. His hair was a medium brown, spiked and gelled in a messy way. Green eyes jumped out from pale freckled skin, framed by dark lashes. His lips quirked into a smile at the girls, dazzling them. He winked one last time before retreating back to the middle of the stage, joining with the others. As the men around him began to work their instruments into harmonizing sounds, the guitarist's fingers began to pluck away at the guitar completing the arrangement of tones. This time, the song was slower, but edgier. Cas nodded approvingly and tapped his fingers against the drink in his hand.   The guitarist was moving with the music on stage, eyes fixated on his fingers as he played. Cas was captivated, watching him with wide, curious eyes. The guitarist bobbed his head, eventually lifting his gaze and staring out into the audience. Glowing green eyes flitted around the ocean of bodies clustered into the bar, eventually finding their way to Castiel where they locked in place, almost like they were trapped. Cas fidgeted and swallowed the sudden lump in his throat. Christ, this guitarist was really something.  Balthazar looked Cas over, concerned.

“Cas, you okay?” He asked. It was a few moments before Castiel replied.

“What? Uh, yeah… yeah I’m fine.”

With a frown, Balthazar followed Castiel’s gaze, trying to figure out what was causing this reaction. When his eyes found the guitarist, a look of understanding filled his face.

“Ah… I think he’s into you.” Balthazar said with a soft chuckle. Cas turned to his friend, eyes wide and heart fluttering.

“Shut up! He’s just looking. He looked at everyone.” Cas pouted, pulling self-consciously on his sweater. He was a total geek! No way in hell would someone so punk, so attractively dangerous be into him. Balthazar shook his head and rested his hand on Cas’ shoulder.

“You should wait for him after the show.” He suggested. “Maybe you could buy him a drink.”

Cas shook his head in horror, turning his gaze back to the stage.

“I can’t… I have to study…”

“Castiel. Listen to me.” Balthazar demanded. “There is an incredibly attractive band member eye fucking you as we speak, and you won’t buy him a drink because you have to study?” He shook his head in frustration and took another puff from his cigarette.

“Well…” Cas began. “I want to… but…”

“But nothing. You're going to buy him a drink.” Balthazar said. Castiel could see he wasn't going to argue about it, so he kept his mouth closed, and turned his attention back on the intriguing guitarist. The way his body swayed, his bright eyes, and the wicked smile that spread across his lips every time one of the girls in the audience reached for him, it was all so interesting. Castiel couldn't describe it any other way.
