"But why didn't you tell us that you're a wizard when you recognised us?" Hermione asked in bewilderment.
Walter sighed.
"I couldn't reveal my true identity to you because I work for the Ministry of Magic in a top secret department that tracks unusual magical behaviour" he stated to the three shocked teenagers before him.
There was a moments pause.
"But...well why are you telling us this all now if it's 'top secret'?" Ron spluttered.
"Because the stuff that's happening here in this restaurant has gotten out of hand. It was hard enough to track and obtain before but as soon as you three started working here, things have worsened considerably" Walter explained.
"Excuse me, umm what exactly has been getting out of hand?" Hermione asked.
"See for yourself" Walter said, gesturing to Ron's injured leg.
"The animatronics are not just revealing their magical properties to humans, they are inflicting injuries and pain upon their superiors" he continued.
"I was placed here from the Ministry of Magic about a month ago once we realised that these animatronics possessed magical abilities (they were created by a witch or wizard and were at Muggle's mercy) to supervise the animatronics and make sure they were all running smoothly in order and not harming or revealing their magical properties to Muggles"
"Everything went smoothly for the first few weeks; the animatronics behaved normally and all in order. But as soon as you three finished your first night here, they started acting...differently. Muggle customers who dined here reported to me that the animatronics often seemed to be moving about strangely and somewhat aggressively and that strange noises were being heard from inside the machines that danced round their children. I knew something was up and that it was only a matter of time until they hurt someone" Walter continued, gazing at Ron's leg.
"What do you think caused them to suddenly act this way?" Harry asked.
"I don't know exactly what but it's definitely been triggered somehow by you three..." Walter began but got interrupted by a blood curdling scream coming from directly outside the office door.
Dundundun cliffhanger! I was feeling in a spooky mood because it was Halloween yesterday so I decided to make the story a lot darker. However, I know how I want it to end and I know what's going to happen so I'll be updating hopefully soon! Thanks for reading!
