Wed. 14/9/16
Friday. Three minutes past three. Just two more minutes until school finishes for the weekend.
He tapped his pencil against the desk, staring at the clock as the seconds ticked by. How could just two minutes manage to feel like two hours?
In the background, his teacher droned on about atoms and matter. She, too, managed to make one hour feel like three.
As the second hand approached the hour, a wide smile crept onto his lips. Then the bell rang out, and he was out of the room within seconds.
As he half walked, half ran down the corridor he tried not to let his excitement show too much, but that was virtually impossible.
Now to everyone else, this weekend was nothing special. But to him, this weekend would surely be the most magical weekend of his life; with this weekend came the Dance Master's fan signing event, and that meant only one thing. He would finally be reunited with his idol, his role model, the love of his life. He would finally get to meet Kai again.
'Kyungsoo!' someone called, and the small boy turned towards the voice.
Throwing an arm around him, Baekhyun fell into step beside him. 'What's got you smiling like a clown?'
'Did you order more posters of that guy?' Jongdae asked, appearing on Kyungsoo's other side with Minseok and Tao close beside him.
'What's his name again?' Tao asked, frowning as he looked up in thought, then down at Minseok. 'Kay? Key?'
'Key?' Minseok echoed with a laugh. 'What the hell kind of name is that?'
'It's Kai,' Kyungsoo replied firmly, not bothering to glance at any of them except Jongdae. 'And I did order posters again, but that's not why I'm smiling.' He turned to Baekhyun, his smile only growing as his eyes disappeared into tiny crescents. 'He's holding another fan sign this weekend.'
Raising his eyebrows, Baekhyun chuckled. 'Oh, really? Are you going?'
Kyungsoo snorted. 'Of course I'm going. Do you think I'd be smiling if I wasn't?'
'Fair enough,' the older replied.
Just as they were walking towards the school gates, two girls passed by them with their arms linked.
'Hey, Minseok oppa,' one of them said as she overtook them, glancing over her shoulder with a smirk and waving at said boy, who spluttered and squeaked a 'hello!' before grabbing Jongdae's arm and pulling him in the opposite direction.
Laughing lightly, Baekhyun shook his head as they disappeared down the road in the direction of their homes. 'That hyung is so smitten,' he said, turning back to the remaining two friends.
The sight of Tao shaking his head in disapproval - as though he was any better - only made Baekhyun laugh even more.
'Well,' Tao announced, letting out a sigh as he pointed ahead of them. 'This is where I leave you two. Goodbye for today.' And with that, he climbed into his mother's car and sped away.
'That kid. I swear he thinks he's older than all of us,' Baekhyun mused, watching the car as it disappeared from sight.
'Leave him be, it's amusing,' Kyungsoo scolded him as they passed through the gates onto the pavement. He waited a moment for a reply, before turning. He was just about to call Baekhyun's name when he saw the brown haired boy trotting across the road to his girlfriend.
With a roll of his eyes, Kyungsoo followed after him as he watched the older press his lips to Taeyeon's, hovering over her slightly as they devoured each other. It was a smooth manoeuvre, one that was clearly practised to perfection, but to Kyungsoo it simply looked as though Baekhyun was trying to eat her face.
