"Nikki, I think you should slow down a bit. Wouldn't you say?" a gentle voice said with concern, as their teal eyes locked onto deep green ones, whose owner was shoving their way past a rushing mass.

The owner of the gentle voice was of a young 16-year-old, Layla Vex. This girl who's the everyday pure or rather an innocent type is currently her school's vice president. Her clothing at the moment was a student uniform, consisting a white button up covered with a tan vest and a plaid black n white skirt. The skirt was rolled up to the girl's upper thigh. Layla had covered her toes a pair of black flats and her magenta-haired tied into a side ponytail, covering her left ear.

Another voice then replied backed quite harshly, "I would Layla, but if you can tell we are in a bit of a time crunch. The class is almost over."

This harsh voice belonged to Layla's best friend Nikki Beat. But their friendship is that of an odd one since Nikki's quite the opposite of Layla. She has more of a cold and dangerous aura. Her appearance is the same as Layla's but her shiny black hair is down and her bangs are pinned to the side. And instead of flats, she wore tan ankles boots. Around her neck was a thick black ribbon choker.

Layla then said trying to convince the girl, "still Nikki, you shouldn't rush like that. You have plenty of time to finish up and leave on time."

But sadly Nikki didn't listen and continued to push through the mass. Layla having giving up, sat down at an empty desk, to wait for Nikki to finish. As she waited, she heard something that caught her attention. She then looked towards the direction of where it came to find a group chatting away.

"Did you guys hear the news about Ace?" one person asked.

"Yeah I heard that she robbed a jewelry store at S.C.P.," another said.

"Well my father said that she mysteriously disappeared right in front of hundreds of cops, leaving them all bewildered!" someone said with excitement.

"And this morning on the news, Officer McDavis said..."

But before Layla could hear to the rest of the conversation, she saw a chair being pulled in the corner of her eyes. She then turned her direction as the chair stopped moving and was repositioned to face Layla. A figure then sat down in the chair, placing their arms on the table. Layla then looked to lock eyes with brown ones, which was slightly covered by black hair, to find it was Eric Vince, the school's president. He was wearing his school uniform, which was white long shirt covered with a tan vest and black pants along with black and white high-tops.

Seeing as he caught Layla's attention, he gave a small smile and said, "Hey Layla, you're done with your class chores I can see."

"Yes, I am. And is it right to assume the same for you?" Layla said returning the smile.

"Why yes I am, in fact, I just finished. By the way, I was going to head to the council room to finish up some things, and I was wondering if you could come with me? Since you are V.P." Eric asked with hope in his eyes.

Layla looking at him carefully opened her mouth. Before she can say anything, a loud ringing was heard, signaling school to be over. Everyone in the classroom headed towards the door but was blocked by their teacher, Ms. Vanagloria.

"Sit down," she said annoyed, and when looking up to face her students in the eyes, her emerald eyes glowed a deep green under her thick black frames. And like magic, the students walked straight to their seats. Ms. Vanagloria then walked to her desk and pulled out a stack of papers. Then with a sly smile, she faced the class. "Since you all tried to leave the class without my say so.... You all have homework for the weekend." She said oh so happily.
