Two days past. Oliver wouldn't talk to anyone. Other than Conner. And even then he'd only say one or two words. He was a mess. Everyone was. But Oliver really really was. Amberly was upset. But she was more concerned than sad. Her sadness for ben was very quickly covered by her concern for Olly.

Amberly was a very smart little girl. She had the IQ of a genius. But she was very shy. She only talked to certain people. Kevin, Ben, and Olly Mainly.

She was very close with Oliver. He had been the one person who immediately was there for her. From day one. Ben had trouble opening up to the girl but Oliver had her hooked from day one.

Oliver was sleeping on he and Ben's Bed. Amberly, Chris, and james were in the bed too. Arnold and Naba were lying on the floor in one part of the bedroom with Lucas and Kevin and Conner were on the other side of the bed with Kaylee. They had decided that sleeping in the same room was the best idea. It was a good way to make sure everyone stayed safe.

Little Lucas woke up before everyone else. The one year old boy was very good at walking. And making noise. And breaking things.

He scooted down the stairs on his bottom. The walkers outside started banging on windows and being very loud and it scared the boy. He started to cry and Naba woke up instantly. She hurried down the stairs, Gently picking the little guy up. She sorta stood still for a moment as they beat on the windows. She was terrified if this whole situation. She hated it.

She ran back up the stairs with him and shut the bedroom door, Waking most of them up. "Naba?" Arnold softly said, rubbing his eyes and sitting up.

Kevin pushed himself up on elbows, Kaylee sitting up with him and climbing up on his lap. He wrapped his arms around the little girl.

"They are outside. They are hitting the windows very hard." Naba said, clearly scared though her voice was quiet since Amberly was still sleeping. Conner rubbed his eyes, sitting up and snuggling close to Kevin and Kaylee.

James nodded. "Alright. We'll have to get out of here." He softly said. "And go where James?" Oliver softly said. "We have no where else to go. Everything is boarded up and barricaded. They can't get in, We'll be alright."

Amberly had woken up and snuggled close to Oliver. "Olly..." She softly said. "They could still get in. James is right we need to go somewhere safer."

Oliver continued, "and Besides that, all of our stuff is here. We won't be able to get it all out to the car with then out there."

"Daddy..." Amberly softly said. "Its not safe. I know you miss Benny but its not safe."

Oliver sighed. Amberly continued. "Benny is gone, daddy. We've got to keep going. You can't just stay here Daddy. Its not safe. For anyone."

"Amberly..." Oliver softly said. "Okay. Okay we'll leave." He softly said, Kissing Amberly's head.

Conner stayed snuggled close to Kevin. He couldn't blame Olly. He'd be the same way. He couldn't imagine loosing Kevin. He'd probably be inconsolable. Worse than Olly. He probably couldn't go on without Kevin.

James and Oliver both got and started for the steps, Heading downstairs to scope out the safest way out. Conner looked up at Kevin. "Kev...?"

"Yeah Sweetie?" Kevin asked, Holding on to his family. "Promise me, that if something happens, you'll get Kaylee as far away from danger as you can..." Conner softly said.

Kevin started at him for a minute, Not saying anything... So conner Continued. "Get her as far from it as you can even if it means leaving me behind. Promise me, Kevin."

Kevin stayed quiet for a moment more, Processing what he'd just been asked to do. "Are you asking me to leave you in harms way so I can-"

"So you can save our daughter. Yes I am." Conner softly said, nodding a little.

"I'm not going to leave y-"

"Yes you are."

"No conner, I am not."

"You are, Kevin. You are because I can save myself. I can shoot a gun and I run fast enough on my own to get away. Kaylee is three. She can't protect herself. I can."

"So you run with her and leave me behind."

"No."

"Why not, Conner?"

"Because Kevin. We all know that she would be much safer with you than she would with me." Conner muttered. And Kevin couldn't argue because it was true. Kevin was a lot stronger and faster than Conner. He didn't have asthma like Conner so he could run longer. Unlike con, He had used a gun before. While Conner could shoot a gun, He never had. He hadn't even held a gun before. Kevin had. His grandfather had taken him to the shooting range at least once a month from the time he was 13 until he turned 17. Kevin could shoot with perfect aim. Conner could not.

They all knew that Conner was much more likely to be caught than Kevin was. As much as it scared Kevin, It was true. And They also knew that Conner would very gladly give himself up in order to protect his family and friends. He had almost gotten himself killed several times in Uganda in order to keep others safe.

"Promise me Kevin." Conner said, a very serious look on his face. He meant it. He was dead serious.

Kevin stared at Conner, Tears filling his eyes. Why? Why did this all have to happen? Why did they have to be put in this situation? Why?

"I promise." He whispered, holding Conner a little tighter. Out of instinct, Arnold held Naba a little tighter too. And Naba held Lucas a little tighter. Chris pulled his knees to his chest. He didn't like this. He didn't like this at all. He was very overwhelming... He was very scared. He didn't want to loose anyone else... He was terrified. James and Oliver returned upstairs.

James sat down beside Chris and pulled him close. Oliver had a ton of food and water in bags. All of there clothes were already in the room. Oliver shut the door and pushed he and Ben's dresser in front of it. "There is no way out. They'll leave eventually if no one goes down there. For a while. They can't hear us and they can't get in. This is just a precaution. For now we are staying in here."

Kevin breathed a sigh of relief. Thank god. He thought they were going to have to fight through that crowd of walkers down there. He thought they were going to loose someone else. Luckily for now, He'd get at least another 24 hours to know for sure that his family would be alright. At least another 24 hours to hold Conner and Kaylee and to Have them by him. To know...
That for 24 hours...
They were going to be a group of friends in a room who were safe. Maybe they could even laugh. Have fun for a while. Forget. Maybe.
