Three days later
Annie's POV
Mom says we're getting our hearts checked today so we're at the hospital and going into the room. They take me first then Katie then Autumn then Brennan then mom then dad then Hayley. We know Brennan and Katie probably have nothing wrong but for safety.

They come back with the results. We go home only mom and dad knowing the results.

When we get home she tells us each and individually. I have nothing wrong with my heart which is super good same with Hayley and Autumn. Katie has nothing wrong with her heart and Brennan hasn't decided to tell us yet. Me, Autumn and Katie hang upstairs while Brennan is downstairs and Hayley on the gymnastics equipment.

I go downstairs and into Brennan's room and he's I think crying, he never cries. I say "what's wrong." He says "nothing."
I say "you sure."
"Yeah"
"Really"
"Yes I'm positive"
"Are you sure"
He says "Annie I have a heart disease, my heart is failing, okay." My mouth drops. That's why he didn't tell us. That's why. That's the reason.

I say "well can it be cured." He says "doesn't work like that." Kinda sarcastically. I say "well then what's gonna happen?" He says "Annie it will kill me, okay?" I hug him but he pushes me away. I say "when?" He says "any second of any given day." I feel a tear drop down my face.
