So the cafeteria is really big, and you basically get school lunches. It's like that. I still don't know what job Juliet is speaking of.
"Okay, so we have a schedule now. At twelve we have your first training session, so until then, you're welcome to relax. Unless you want to hang out with me, that would be fun. Then after your training, someone has to put you in a group, so we may not be together anymore."
I'm fine with that.
"So yeah." She says. "Let's go hang out at my room. CJ and Breck are coming."
"Uh." I say. "I don't know, I'm still really confused---"
"Great!" She says. "Let's go!"
I swallow the rest of my egg, and we go.
"Wow, you really have ways of forcing people to do things." I say.
"Oh, I know." She says. "It's my job."
And again with the job.
"I still don't know what you mean about jobs." I say.
"Ah... you'll start today."
We arrive at Juliet's room and CJ and Breck are already walking down the hall.
"Hey Juliet." Breck says. He looks at me. "Brooke."
We go into Juliet's room and the first thing I notice is that it's painted bright blue. She has little puzzles everywhere and they're all almost completed.
"So you work on puzzles in your spare time?" I ask.
"Oh." She says. "Yeah, I guess. It distracts me from reality."
"Hm." I say. "Cool."
CJ looks down at one of the puzzles. "A whale?"
Breck laughs. "Yes CJ, it's a whale."
