Chapter 5. Running.

"Well maybe we should see how fast and how strong she is."
I looked at nick when he said those words. With how tough minho looked I don't think I could handle it out there.
*timeskip*
"All you have to do is be able to run all day mapping the maze and make if back before those doors close. Which they close at sunset and open at sunrise. You leave when the open and make it back before they close. Got it?" Nick said as he made sure I had everything I needed for tryout day. Which was my lunch, some comfy shoes, my pack, and my partner. I nodded at prodded around in my shoes to get used to them because I would have to run all day. But then It hit me. He said Maze.
"Wait, what did you mean by 'Maze'?"
"Exactly as it sounds. We are like lab rats memorizing a maze. We think it's the only way out. But we are not sure." He looked at me and came over to me lightly holing my shoulders in his grip as he stared down at me.
"Don't worry about it, just make it back ok?"
For the leader he had a hint of kindness in his voice. So, I nodded and he smiled. Then he let go and walked to the maze. But I could feel eyes staring into my back as the doors opened and I ran in.
*Newts pov*
The rumbling of those bloody doors still wake me up. So I decided to go see minho take off today...but I saw the new girl....y/n. She was running into the maze. And I don't know why, but I feel a slight protective feeling when she disappeared around the corner. So I decided to ask why she went out there.
I walked over to Nick
