"I'll get the candy and drinks if you get the tickets and popcorn." I deal.
"Sure." Pete replys. "Hey, what do you want to see anyways?" He asks.
"Whatever you want." I smile as I head up to the counter.
"Get me some fishes, please!" He says as he goes to purchase the popcorn and tickets.
"Could I have some gummy fishes, sour watermelons, and 2 waters please?" I ask polietly.
"Sure, hon." The sweet lady flicks her hat and grabs my requested needs. I hand her a ten dollar bill and she exchanges my candy and drinks.
"Thank you ma'am" I say in thanks.
She winks and I wave goodbye.
I meet back up with Pete and follow him to what movie he picked. I put my arm around him and smiled." This is nice, just to take a little break and spend it with one of my close friends." I apease. He blushes.
"Same here, I don't have very many friends and I'm glad I have you." He says in a low tone.
I hug him. "I'm glad to have you too."
We sit down all the way at the top and I hand him his desired fishy gummies. "Yum" He cheers. I chuckle and eat a few of my watermelons. My tongue waters as I taste the sourness of it. I clench my teeth and make a weird face.
"Woah, what kinda face was that?"
I smirk and wave my hand away dismissing the face I made. He makes a weird face back and we giggle.
About 10 minuets later the movie starts. I begin eating my popcorn and taking a few sips of water as well.
So far, to what I can conclude, this movie is about a group of friends trying to get away from a killer and picking the most irrelevant places to hide, while the obvious places to be safe is too far complex to find. I sigh and put my hand on my forehead at the sight of the stupidity of the plot.
"Can't there be a movie where one chooses at least, some of the right choices that lead them to safety, instead of leading them to complete oblivion and getting them decapitated or some other gruesome death?" I whisper.
" I wish." He whispers back. I resume my focus back to the movie and find everything wrong, or at least in my opion, with the movie, which was alot.
After the movie was over I was so glad when they all died because of the idocracy was so overwhelming, I even cringed.
"What a lovely movie!" I say with sarcasm.
"Agreed." He says with a sigh.
"But hey at least we know what to do in those "drastic" meausures." I joke.
He shows a toothy grin, as do I.
Suddenly, I hear a loud rumble followed by multiple screams. My face becomes flushed and I turn my head to Pete, wearing the same expression I do.
Without a second thought we rush through the double doors of the entrance of the cinema. I gasp at the site. Sinkholes. Many series of sinkholes scattering across the road ahead. I tell Pete to go one way and I go to another to undergo and save as many people as we can. He nods and we run off.
First, I spot a little girl crying standing in the middle of the road unable to even understand the situation. I dash over but stop as I see the ground beneath her cracking.
Waving my hand to get the girls attention she looks up and I scream "Don't move!". She nods quickly and positions herself to stand upright.
Slowly I take a step towards her and cause the crack to branch off into multiple tiny ones. I curse under my breath and think. As I'm taking to long to think parts of the ground start to break and fall into the earth below.
The girl screams in horror and I sprint towards her as the falling gravel creeps towards her also.
I ran as fast as I can and jump, grabbing her and falling to the other side in safety. Quickly we get up and she hugs me. Her eyes still red from tears, she looks at me with sympathy and thankfulness. I start to smile but quickly relinquish it. We hear more rumbling and also feel it beneath us.
I pick her up and try to run but the ground beneath us gives away and we fall.
Luckily I catch on to something with one hand and grip the girls hand tight with the other. She starts to become hysterical and I try to soothe her. On the inside I'm as scared as she is but I have to keep calm for the girl and myself. I take a deep breath and say " Ok, I'm going to swing you up on to the ledge so you can pull yourself up. After that I'm going to need you to get someone to help me. Right now you're going to have to be a big girl and be brave for me and then we can find your parents." I tell her.
Many wires crack and hiss followed by everything falling into the sinkholes. I start to swing her and get momentum going until she grabs on to the ledge. She pulls herself out and dashes to go find help.
I grab on to another sturdy part of earth and hold on to it. My arms are becoming weak and I grunt. One hands slips off of the gravel and I let out a stifled scream. I don't know how much longer I can hold.
My eyes begin to fill with tears. Then all of the sudden I hear Pete calling. I'm not sure of what he's saying because it's being muffled to where I'm hanging. I scream to let him know where I am. I see his head pop over the side and he sticks his hand out to pull me up. I try to reach my other hand up to him but my arms are to weak. I try to lift my hand up, only inches away from his hand. I'm almost there but then, the thick root I'm holding onto is starting to uproot. My face becomes pale and a horrible feeling unease me. His face is filled with worry and I look at the root. It breaks off and I scream. I fall but am soon grabbed by Pete ' s hand.
A tear drips as he pulls me out. I don't hear any further comotion so the sinkholes must have stopped. I'm on my knees now, on sturdy ground. I breath out heavily and soon hugged by Pete. I don't let go for awhile, so afraid. He rubs my back trying to comfort me. After awhile I pull away slowly and sniffle. "It's gonna be ok, I'm right here for you, it's ok!" Pete attempts to soothe me.
"Thanks Pete." I manage to croak out.
He hugs me one more time and then steps back.
Then the little girl runs up to me and I crouch down to her level. She hands me a very small stuffed giraffe and gives a big smile. It brings happy tears and I embrace her. "Thank you miss!" She squeals and runs back to her parents. I put on a big smile put the animal in my pocket. Pete wipes away my tears and puts his arm around me. "Let's get back to the station." I nod and sniffle again. I wrap and arm around him and try to find our car.
