In the waters of dull and gray,
Drifting within to float away,
Above the surface eyes behold all is worthless,
Misleading the mind with much persistence,
Mirages appear off in the distance,
Below the waters a twilight zone,
Darkness desolate all alone,
An in-between does not exist,
Explain!
How to be resolute within this?
A cloudburst now beats down,
Its hidden purpose is to drown,
As one wallows within their sorrows,
They bathe in dread of seeing tomorrow,
Hands grasping to break through the surface,
Desperately reaching for hope for a purpose,
As waters of dull and gray are relentlessly churning,
To struggle no more the soul is yearning.
