12 years later....
I stepped out of the golden carriage, with my fathers most trusted person and the head of the defense helping me.
Griffin.
I stumbled as my feet touched the ground, I mean who wouldn't?
I'm wearing 5 inch high heels for goodness sake.
Man, being a princess is painful.
Griffin held my hand softly, and led me through the guards who stood on either side of the path.
We had just returned from the town, completely exhausted from roaming around.
My braid was half open, my silvery blue hair flying all over my face because of the wind that was blowing.
I looked over to griffin who looked straight ahead.
I envied how his perfect black hair remained untouched, as though he had just run a comb through it.
His emerald eyes flickered towards me for a second.
I looked to gaurds standing around us, stiff as though made off rock.
Well they were made of rock , but it always fascinated me how they stand so still and serious looking.
What if they have an itch? What if they have to sneeze or laugh or cry o-
" can't go 5 minutes without nearly hurting yourself can you?" Griffin said as he caught me , yet again, from falling due to my lack of concentration in life.
He had that stupid smile he usually has.
" shut up" I glared at him. He just chuckled as I straightened myself.
I looked over to the guards.
No emotion.
Damn their good.
Any other person would have laughed or smiled.
Wonder if they take Botox shots.
I'm smiled to them and continued walking.
We finally reached the castle doors.
I sighed in relief as I took off my heels and my feet finally touched to cool ground.
The doors closed behind us.
I gabbed my shoes in my right hand, the other grabbing Griffins.
" Come one, we don't have all day" I said.
Griffin obliged and let me drag him around.
He understood my seriousness I'm these matters, like any other best find would.
Tonight was the night I as officially going to be called the queen of Lavosa.
No, daddy's not dead.
He just thinks I'm more capable of running a country. And trust me, I'm freaking out.
I had to check if everything was in order for the ball.
Especially the security.
The Xivians could attack, and I needed full protection for my people.
I entered the security room.i
I eyed the different types of guns laying around.
The helias were standing around the room, discussing something between themselves.
Griffin cleared his throat, signaling our presence to the blue , tall , winged creatures.
Cosh, one of the team leaders looked towards us.
" morning sir, your highness" he said walking towards us.
We exchanged greetings.
" so how are things going ?" Griffin asked.
" perfect sir. Shields are up, weapons are ready just in case and we have Hawks watching the town."
" good. Continue your work."
" yes sir!" He yelled loudly , and went back to what he was doing.
I exited the room, making my way to the ball room where all our events we held.
I would down the long hall, remembering all the times I had tripped and a broken a vase or the time daddy would chase me around, playing tag.
I smiled at the memories.
Tonight , I was going to become queen.
A queen.
It felt i like it was only yesterday daddy picked me up and brought me here, to my new home.
Wonder if death's going to be there.
" hello !anyone home " griffin said , snapping me out of my thoughts.
I snapped back to reality , only to find we were already in the ball room.
The Farenes , the elf like fairies were up fixing the decorations .
Madam Joan was running around, making sure every thing was perfect.
He eyes widened when she saw me.
" your highness , Griffin, what a pleasure to see you" she said hugging me A little.
Griffin simply nodded.
" you too jo, wow you look exhausted" I said, noticing the bags under her eyes.
" I know sweetheart. Im trying to do everything as fast and as perfect as possible, but those stupid Farenes are like snails !" She said.
" hey lady , you try flying and hanging 10 pounds of decorations on this giant roof" one of them yelled.
" get back to work!" She responded.
I smiled slowly.
Jo was a perfectionist.
She's organized every event of the castle for the past 500 years!
She stood tiredly in front of me. Her yellow skin had lost its glow and her hair was super frizzy.
Jo and one of the Farenes started to argue.
I looked over to griffin and he looked at me.
" I think we should leave." He quietly whispered.
I nodded in response.
We both quietly excused ourselves and made our way to my favorite part of the castle.
The kitchen.
The smell of cakes and pastries hit my nose as I entered.
I took a big whiff of the cupcakes placed on the counter next to me.
" Audrey! Honey what brings you here" asked Paula , our chef.
" oh nothing , just came to check on the food , that's all." I said.
" well as you can see sweety , the foods fine. Now , don't you have to get dressed. The ball starts in 3 hours."
Crap.
I looked over to the clock.
I still had to check the gardens, the entertainment the -
" I'll take care of it. Go get dressed." Griffin said, noticing the look on my face.
" really?"
" sure." I hugged him and placed a small kiss on his cheek.
"Thanks. Your a life saver"
With that I rushed out of the kitchen.
Dress up time!Hey guys. I know it wasn't very interesting but I promise it gets better.
