My mum calls me and my brothers down to eat. It's just me, Phil, and Adrian now as Martyn moved out. I slide down the railing of the stairs making Adrian- the youngest- laugh. I almost fall at the landing and I hear laughter. "When you break your neck- I'm not helping you, Daniel." I turn around to see my older brother, Phil, walking down.

I smirk, "You're so old- Fashioned- it's not 1987 anymore Phil." He turns bright red and Adrian bursts into laughter. "What does that make me?" My mum asks, faking offense. "You're great mum. Ripe as this apple." I say picking up a perfectly ripe apple. She smiles. "That's sweet, Dan." I grin and wash it off. Phil leans on the counter. "That's sweet, Dan." Phil teases and I roll my eyes at him. His bright blue eyes light up when I start to laugh a bit. "You are so immature, Phillip." He sticks his tongue out at me and I ruffle Adrian's hair.

Adrian smacks my hand away, eyes on his phone. "Who are you texting? Cat?" I tease. Adrian glares, "Shut up." My mum sighs. "If Adrian wants to talk to his girlfriend he can, Dan. Even Phil has a right to talk to his boyfriend or girlfriend if he desires." Phil came out as Bisexual to our family last month. I huff and lean on the counter. "When are you going to get a girlfriend, Dan?" I wince. "I don't know- we will see." I force and mum narrows her eyes at me. Phil raises an eyebrow and Adrian falls for it.

Adrian eventually goes upstairs and Phil sits at the table. "Dan? Are you gay?" My mum asks softly. "No!" I shout, defensive. "Mum- don't. Dan's only 17. It took me until 21 years to realize my sexuality." He says softly. "I'm not gay!" I cry and Phil locks eyes with me. He stands up and walks over to me. "Are you sure? I wouldn't be so rough on it." He stands over me and I swallow hard.

Phil is an attractive man. His bright blue eyes are darker and his face is stern but soft. Maybe you are gay. I shake my head and drop my gaze. I can't admit it. Phil is the brother I trust the most. But my mum is there and I'm nervous plus- I think I have a crush on my brother.
