Jessalyn kept taping her foot and shaking her legs as she looked up at the clock.
'Everything was perfect, In the morning everything was be fine.'
Her heart felt like it was breaking into little pieces and as much as she tried to pick them up, they just wouldn't stick together.
'Everything was perfect. In the morning everything was be fine. '
That's what she kept repeating to herself in her head. But the memory of the day kept coming back to her while she sat in the waiting room of the hospital. Alone, cold, tired, and hungry.

She woke up, took a shower, brushed her teeth, got dressed. Normal, right? She fed her black and orange kitten she had found and begged her parents to let her keep, and when they finally agreed, she named her Halloween.
She went down stairs to the kitchen where her 20 year old brother was sitting down eating cereal while reading the newspaper. She quickly grabbed a banana and a granola bar, quickly leaving a kiss on his forehead before she started to walk towards the door.
"First day of second semester of high school, the most important semester and that's what you are planning to eating?" Her brother Julian called while she was half out the front door. She immediately walked back inside and stared at her hands, which she noticed were shaking. "Nervous Jess?" He asked.
Jessalyn just nodded and looked up at him.
"It's not like it's the first day of high school so it can't be that bad right." She said staring into her brother's honey colored eyes, the same color of her own. He had smile on his face.
"I don't think you have anything to worry about Jess, Ricky will be there right, so it's not like you'll be alone."
She just nodded; no one knew that her one and only friend had been ignoring her.
