Light And Dark

The dark creeps around me
Wraps and twists and breaks in three

Gliding through my hair
Tangles and snags
How unfair

I rip
I pull
I wish to break free

I push
I shove
And finally I see

That warmth
That heat
That keeps the cold away

That fresh
That clean
I wish not to stray

But soon it shatters
Combusts
Implodes in my face

The most cold of them all
I will no longer chase

For the dark is cold and honest to no end

Where as the light is a sweet lie and only pretends.

The darkness is a simple poke
For it was never truly mean

The light is a sad joke
Twisted and unseen
