Colors

If I was a color,
What would I be?
Would I only be one,
Or two or three?

Maybe I'll be green
Like the trees and the grass
Living life the way I can
Sturdier than glass

Or maybe I'm blue
Like the sky and the sea
Watching over all
And being absolutely free

Perhaps I'm purple
Like in dusk and dawn
Enchanting everyone with my beauty
Just like a swan

Or perhaps I'm yellow
Like the sun and the flowers
Bringing joy to the world
Even in the rain's awful showers

I could be brown
Like cinnamon or dirt
Keeping a balance between things
Or being sufficiently curt

Maybe I'm white
Like the walls or the clouds
Not speaking a peep
Staying away from the crowds

Or maybe I'm black
Like a panther or a crow
Completing the yang to the yin
For I reap what I sow

The color I do not wish to be is red
Like blood or a rose
For all I do is resemble pain
And present you with new foes
