"Treat others how you want to be treated" you muse
"Treat me like an object" I say
Say that you love me, you need me
Say that there's nothing better
Better than me or us
Better than anything
Anything more is not enough
Anything less is all we have
"Have sympathy, love", you instructed
"Have pride, my dear", I told you
You weren't enough, I'm sorry
You never would be
"Be truthful," you begged
"Be with someone else," I admitted
Admitted I lied
Admitted I used you
You cried
You screamed
Screamed at me
Screamed mostly of your ignorance
Ignorance is bliss, though
Ignorance helped for the longest time
Time is running out
Time is all we had
Had you realized earlier
Had I ever loved you?
You needed to leave
You wanted to stay
"Stay with me" I cried
"Stay away" you warned
Warned me this was my last chance
Warned with your empty threats
Threats of abuse
Threats that you'd never do
"Do me a favor?" you asked
"Do you love me?" I pondered
Pondered that you hated me
Pondered that I hated you
You told me you loved me
You told me you cared
Cared about what happened
Cared about our future
Future plans
Future so bleak
Bleak as your eyes
Bleak as virgin snow
Snow fell
Snow colder than you, baby
"Baby?"
"Baby, you're selfish."
