They soon reached the front entrance of the ministry, as soon as they entered Severus felt like he was being watched and appraised like a piece of fine jewelry. Albus sensed his uneasiness and reassured him,

"It'll be fine my boy, this is just the first time they've seen you, it won't ever change but it will become normal soon."

Severus sincerely doubted that, he didn't think people openly staring at him would ever become normal. He smiled anyway going along with it to stop the old man worrying. They got to the check-in and the rather frail and bony looking blonde  woman sitting at the desk said in monotonous voice,

"Please, place your wands in the slot so you maybe checked in."

She looked up when three wands simultaneously dropped into the slot. When she saw three now very well known witches and wizards standing before her she gave a squeak, before hurrying faster than she had in a decade.Once they had their wands checked in they walked through the door and in to the bustling heart of the Ministry of Magic.

"Where are we going exactly?" Lily asked holding Harry close so he didn't get hit by someone's flying briefcase.

"Tenth floor," Albus answered, checking his watch," And we have fifteen minutes to get there."

They walked quickly to the lifts and reached the tenth floor without many delays. They knocked on the second door on the right and it was opened by Cornelius Fudge newly elected Minister of Magic.

"Hello Headmaster. Severus, ready to get started?" Severus was looking slightly green but he drew in a deep breath and nodded,

"As ready as I'll ever be."

"Splendid! Alright first I'm going to go up and say some rather boring things, the Dark Lord is gone etc., then Albus will say a few things if he so wishes," Albus nodded,"Then it will be time for the main event! Severus you'll go up say as much as you like but as soon as the floor opens for questions, tread lightly, there are some reporters that would kill for the chance to drag a hero down."

Severus nodded weakly, "This is going to be worse than I thought, and I was basically expecting World War III, oh well." "How much longer?" he asked.

Albus checked his watch again," Three minutes, the reporters should be getting restless, is a certain despicable, lying reporter out there?

Cornelius chuckled softly, trying to hide his grin behind his hand,"Yes unfortunately Rita is here. They couldn't keep her away but I think the head of the Prophet should be able to keep her lies to a minimum, he's sitting right next to her after all."

He checked his watch," Alright people time to face the music so to speak!"he smiled before stepping out on to the stage.
