Harry -
"What the hell are those?" I ask.
"Snake bites."
Okay, I can deal with Chloe dying her hair a different color every other day, the occasional swear word she says, the time she came home with a tattoo that I specifically told her not to get, and all that other stuff.
But not the piercings.
"Why?" Is all I can ask. Why would my daughter want to put metal through her face? More specifically, her lips.
"Because I wanted to."
"Haven't I told you enough times that you need to talk these kinds of decisions over with me first?"
"What kind of decisions?! It's my body!" She yells, throwing her arms around wildly and rolling her eyes. She's got an attitude that seems to come up out of nowhere.
"Yeah. And now you've permanently pierced your body. You can't undo that in any way. Did you think about that?" She only looks around the room and sighs.
"Chloe, I just wish you'd talk to me about these kinds of things."
"Oh, and you would've said what? 'Don't do it, baby. You're still daddy's little girl and I don't want you to grow up'?" She sarcastically scoffs and rolls her eyes once again.
"I don't want you to grow up. And you are still my little girl-"
"I'm 16!"
"Hey, watch it. You are still my little girl, but I do know that you're growing up. I just don't see how getting metal pieces through your face has anything to do with growing up." I honestly tell her. It all seems so weird to me why these teenagers all want to do these crazy things. I can't imagine having metal going through my body.
"Okay, look. I'm sorry I did it without your permission, but I don't regret doing it." Okay, and that's supposed to make me feel better?
"Chloe, you're at the age I was when I was put in prison. I just want you to be able to talk to me, okay? It seems like I'm trying to stop you from doing everything you want to do, but believe me when I say that I'm just trying to help you."
"So I get snake bites and I'm suddenly going to prison?" Chloe asks with too much sarcasm.
"No. Just....be careful, okay? Now is there anything else you wanted to show me?" I ask, bracing myself for another forbidden tattoo, or another piercing or something worse. Actually, can it be any worse?
"No, just these." She laughs, pointing towards the metal "snake bites" as she calls them. To be honest, they look painful.
"Well, why don't we go back downstairs and I'll try to fix something that resembles lunch while you finish your homework you were supposed to get down yesterday." I wrap my arm around her shoulders and we both head down the stairs.

Miley -
"I'm sure you'll love it here. The students are usually very well behaved and I'm sure they'll love you."
"I'm not sure that I've ever been to a school where the students love the principal." I tell the woman who's showing me around the school.
"Well, anyway, that's the whole school and this will be your office." She opens the door and shows me around the space that will be my office. It's nice.
"So I'll just let you arrange things the way you want and here's a list of the students names and their files are in this filing drawer." And with that, she leaves me to settle into the office. Thank god it's Saturday.
___________________________So, a short crappy little prologue for you all!
Sorry that it's not great, but I'm always crap at the beginning of stories.
Anyway, I'll try to get the first real chapter up tomorrow!
But what do you guys think of all this so far? Harry as a dad to a moody emo teen and Miley being a principal?
Trust me the whole Miley being a principal will become more exiting, okay? Because she's a high school principal....I don't want to give too much away too fast...but...any guesses why this is important?
