"ok, just one more to go" Rae thought to herself, as she carried the heavy box up the last flight of stairs in her new apartment, she had recently relocated to London from Glasgow to start a new job and gain some more independence.

"oh Shit" she said as a picture frame fell out of the box, two women walked past her as she bent down to pick it up and balance the box on the railing.

"no it's fine, I've got it, thank anyway" She said towards the two women that had ignored her and had now passed.

She arrived at her front door and straightened the number eight on eighteen. she opened the door and smiled at the fresh canvas of her new home, full of potential, hardwood flooring and a strange smell of lavender that was starting to give her a headache.

After doing a little unpacking, just necessities, it was time to put the television on watch television and have a glass, or bottle, of wine. She changed into her Teenage Mutant ninja Turtles pyjamas, they were the only ones she could find, and climbed onto the sofa and cracked open the white wine.

After a few scary moments on the show and a couple of screams, Rae's phone started to ring. She looked at the screen as it lit up the room,

"aw what" she pressed the answer button begrudgingly "hi mum, yes I'm absolutely fine...no I haven't been targeted by any gangs, where do you think I live? The Bronx... ok mum, you're getting really offensive now... I know, thank for the pepper spray, but I really don't think I'll need it, actually I don't know if I'm allowed to carry it on the streets... I think I'll be able to figure that out... because I'm twenty three, not thirteen... ok, mum...mum....mum, I have to go" Loud banging was coming from across the hall "there's loud banging coming from across the hall, I'm gonna go check it out... I'm sure it's not a cult leader mum, right I'm going to go... right I love you, bye" She hung up the phone and looked through the peep-hole of her front door. There was no one there, but as she stood there she could hear that it was music coming from across the hall.

"I Can't deal with this, It's half eleven, ok Rae just go across the hall and ask them to turn it down. you're new to the building and you don't want them to think you won't do something about it, DON'T BE A PUSHOVER, also, stop talking to yourself" Rae opened her front door and knocked on the adjacent one.

A tall blonde woman opened the door, she was wearing a man t-shirt and had messy hair, Rae looked her up and down, feeling a bit inferior with her short stature and short brown bob.

"Lucas, someone is at your door" the tall woman said with a Russian accent, a tall man walked up next to the woman, he was also tall and blonde and really quite good looking. He stared at the woman knocking at his door at half eleven at night in her pyjamas. He turned to look at his 'friend',

"honey, you can go back inside, the wine is on the coffee table, I'll deal with this" he said as he tapped her on her backside and winked at her as she walked away.

"Hi, erm, I just moved across the hall and I don't mean to be a pain, but it's half eleven at night and your music is really loud, I was wondering if you could turn it down please" Rae asked him, Trying not to stare at his bare chest.

"oh so you're my new neighbour" he stated

"yes, I just moved in today"

"well, it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Lucas" he held out his hand for her to shake. Rae looked at him and Shook his hand. "I'm Rae" she replied

"Well Rae, I don't know what to tell you, my music isn't too loud at all, no one else has complained, maybe you're just a little sensitive to it, I get it, you're new to the building and you want make sure everyone knows you're a tough cookie" He replied to her

"excuse me!" Rae said as she placed her hand on her hip "I'm not trying to do that, I just want you to turn your damn music down, it's late and I have an early start"
