EYES OF A PUREBLOOD WITCH

CHAPTER 2

Climbing down the stairs was a big problem for me. I had to do it slowly to avoid falling from these heels and making a fool out of myself. As i came down to the ballroom,happy that no one was staring,my eyes searched for my friends.

Finally, i saw them. Thank goodness,at last i got company.

"Look who decided to join us" Caroline said. Trust Caroline to be the first to talk.

They aren't royalty,but they are nobility. Caroline Evans "the mean blonde" as we like to call her,she is a very good friend but can be a real bitch(don't let her get you use the "B" word on her). If she doesn't like you, then she really doesn't like you at all. Count on her to say things the way she sees it not minding if its gonna hurt anybody. I guess her attitude earned her the element fire. Did i forget to mention red is her best colour. Kinda suits her,if you know what i mean.

"Esy,where the hell have you been. We have been looking for you" Daphne said hugging me. Daphne Shaw is really nice,just don't tease her too much. She's the most practical and sensible among us and doesn't joke with her boyfriend Blake. Her element is air.

"Am sorry guys,i got dressed up late,besides where is Lucy?" i asked looking around.

Caroline scoffed "she is probably out there drooling on some of those warrior hunks guarding the palace,that girl is wasted" she said sipping some of her champagne

That's Lucy Gilbert for you,she spends most of her days and time fantasizing about hot guys,but she can't even speak when alone with any. She loves her friends, and i really admire how stable she is no matter the situation. Her element is earth.

Well i love my friends,no matter what we stand there for each other,since we were kids. Lets just say we are "the fabulous four" ,Caroline's idea.

"I'll go and look for her" Caroline said and left.

"Am so happy for your sister Esy, she is growing into a mature woman and witch" Daphne said.

"Yea,she deserves it"

Though we witches live longer than humans,we celebrate every year added to our life. For us purebloods,our powers get stronger and our eyes brighter. I can't say much about my eyes though,cause on my last 18th birthday ,it didn't glow like it is supposed to and it freaked me out,even till now.

My eyes weren't born with normal colours like other pureblood witches. I was born with bright purple eyes which was strange. According to my mom,she secretly asked Davina a half-blood witch to use the cloaking spell on my eyes,immediately after she had spelled the mid-wives who delivered me to forget what they saw,since they were the only witches born without an element,they relied on spells and so were good at it. She used the spell to hide the true colour of my eyes,telling her that the true colour of my eyes were known to me and her alone,but to others it was blue in colour. She said it was done to protect me. Though i still can't wrap my head around the meaning of her statement.

Since then,i had to live pretending water was my only element ,whereas i could manipulate the other three.

"Here,she is" Caroline said,her words bringing me back to reality.

"Don't you have something better to do Caroline?" Lucy snapped at her.

"Like you were doing something meaningful yourself,i had to practically drag your stupid ass back here" She sneered.

"Get a life"

"Am already living a life,you know a "real one" and not one based on foolish fantasies like yours" she shot back.

The ground beneath my feet shook. Now that's a warning,Lucy was clearly pissed off. This has to stop or my sister's party will turn into a war zone.

"Stop it you two,don't you even think about fighting here,this is Maria's big day for crying out loud,if you wanna pull each others lashes out you can do it some other time, but not today and definitely not here" Daphne said,intervening.

"She started it" Lucy yelled.

"I don't care who started it,just stop" Daphne replied. Now that calmed down the situation.

"Emmm....guys,has anyone of you seen Adam?" i asked breaking the silence.

"Yea,i think i saw him going out with someone" Daphne said.

"Someone?,comon Daph,just say it already" Caroline said with a smirk.

"What are you guys talking about?" i asked

"Fine, i'll help you say it,that jerk went out with a red head human girl" Caroline said with disgust.

I stared at them in shock.

"Esy ,that guy isn't worth your sister Maria,he's such a flirtatious human being" Lucy said.

Then i remembered i promised Maria to get back together with Adam.

"I'll be right back" i said and ran outside,before they tried to stop me.

"Nicely done Caroline,why can't you ever keep your mouth shut" Daphne snapped at her.

"Beats me,i think we should go to an animal shop and get her a muzzle" Lucy said, smiling widely.

What?,hey its called being honest and for the record Esy deserves to know what a jerk her sister is dating. And FYI Lucy that wasn't funny at all" she said.

"Whatever" Lucy replied.

"I just hope Esy can handle whatever she finds out. You know how angry she can get" Daphne said.

The cool air breezed past my skin making me feel cold. Still i kept searching for Adam outside. Then i heard moaning sounds coming from the stable. I decided to check it out.

Geez!,what i saw made me shriek. Adam was making out with the red head.

"Bloody hell!" i screamed. They both quickly pulled apart and rushed for their clothes,not that they were totally naked,thank goodness they weren't. If not i swear i'll sanitize my eyes for month.

"Princess....Es..Esmeralda,please i can explain" he stuttered.

I was so infuriated,i swear i would have set them ablaze with a blink of my eye,but i couldn't risk exposing my secret.

"Leave this instant,you slut!" i commanded angrily. The girl rushed out of the stable half naked. I twirled my fingers behind my back throwing her away with a gust of wind,hopefully he didn't see that.

"How could you do this to my sister? i said now facing Adam.

"Am sorry your highness, she forced herself on me" he said looking at the ground,unable to meet my eyes.

"It sure didn't look like that with what i had just seen. Adam,my sister loves you so much that she hasn't been herself since you guys fought,and this is how you treat her behind her back" i blurted out angrily.

"Please don't tell Maria what just happened"

"I won't tell her, at least not today cause it would ruin her day. But i don't ever want to see you with her again. Your nothing but a dirty scumbag. If you dare me,i promise you i will dehydrate every single trace of water in your body and you know what happens next, don't forget i keep my promises " i said and angrily went out of the stable.
