"Come on Silverkit, don't be a slowpoke. Last one to the river is crowfood!"
"Oh Foxkit, you know I'm not very fast. I don't really wanna race."
Foxkit glanced back at her sister, who was badly lagging behind. Running like this was exhilarating, and since it was also breaking the rules by being out of camp, she enjoyed every second of it. Her sister, however, did not restrain from saying it was a bad idea, and she was complaining constantly. "You'll just be crowfood then," Foxkit called over her shoulder again.
"I don't care," Silverkit yelled defiantly, though Foxkit could see uncertainty on her face. Silverkit always wanted to be the best, and followed the rules and the warrior code to the letter. Those two traits were waging a battle in Silverkit's mind. Finally, Silverkit sighed and said, "Fine. Let's race."
Foxkit smiled. She knew her sister very well and was able to manipulate her often. They were very close. Foxkit could not imagine a life without her. She pumped her legs, going faster and faster, racing across the ground. She loved running. Her mother often called her a little WindClan cat, though she was of ThunderClan. Foxkit turned to call over her shoulder. "Can't you keep up? You're being as slow-" and the ground disappeared beneath her feet. What happened? Foxkit thought, then the world swirled into inky darkness.
