One - How Wonderful...

"Have a good day, Sweetie," my mom says as she walks down a hallway to her job.

"Thanks! You too!" I yell back. I walk down a large hallway and turn right. I walk down another huge hallway but it's way more quiet. That why I go down here all the time.

I walk until I reach some stairs and climb up them.

I turn left and reach the middle school hallway and walk down a continuous river of people to get to the high school hallway.

I finally reach the tenth grade. I'm really comfortable around everyone here now that I'm not new.

I throw my 15 lbs bag in the floor and check the time to see how much I can procrastinate putting my stuff in the locker.

7:46 a.m.

Good.

I grab my phone and scroll through an app called Wattpad which is pretty cool. I edit a new story as more ninth graders arrive at school.

Finally at 7:53 am, my best friend Bri appears with an irritated expression on her face, probably because she was tired.

I run over to her and laugh, "Hey boo."

Her mood lightens as she sees me, "Hey boo. What's good?"

We both start laughing for no reason as she puts her stuff away.

I look out the corner of my eye and see a brown skin with braids, my other best friend Aria.

Along with her is my best friend Summer who is white and has beautiful natural blonde hair.

"Hey guys!" I yell as they walked closer towards us.

But I realize that I have to put my stuff away since time is going by fast.

I excuse myself, rush back to my locker, grab my stuff for English, and set it down at my desk in the classroom.

I see its 7:56a.m. so I run back to Aria, Summer, and Bri to talk one last time before the bell rings.

7:59a.m. is finally is here, so I go back into English and sat down in my seat.

I talk to Bri from across the room from my desk so I won't be late. (Aria and Summer aren't in my first or second class).

I talk and all the tenth graders come and sit down as well, getting ready for the day.

I laugh until the bell rings and everyone gets quiet for the announcements.

I look around for my teacher Ms. Dog to come in but I can't find her.

Weird. Maybe she took a day off, like only every other teacher does.

I roll my eyes.

Anyway the announcements sound the same as everyday, announcing which team won or lost yesterday, what upcoming events there are, and the cliché, "have a nice day".

Well, until the end.

"Attention tenth graders. This is not a test. I repeat. This is not a test. Everyone stay seated and calm until the end of the announcements."

Immediately, the attention of all the kids in the classroom is grabbed.

Especially mine.

A million thoughts run in my head.

Is a terrorist in our school?
