turns out I had passed out during the movie, thankfully, because I didn't know if I would ever be able to go to sleep with everything that had happened.
we were awakened around 7:30 by Mrs. Leblanc.
"wake up girlies, we're going to go somewhere super cool today!"
I rolled off the couch and onto the floor, earning laughs from everyone.
"I don't have any clothes to wear." I mumbled from the floor, still with my eyes closed.
Mrs. Katie helped me up from the floor, replying back to me and my groggy self "that's fine, you're welcome to borrow anything of Hayley's or Annie's. now you three go get ready, and pack swimsuits!"
and after that, we all pretty much knew what we were doing today.
we ran upstairs as fast as our little legs could go, and by the time we reached the top, we were all practically dead.
we walked into Hay's room, and I began trying to find something to wear.
I found a pretty blue floral two piece and some white shorts with a gymnastics shirt, so I felt pretty satisfied. I took them into the bathroom to change, brush my hair, and maybe even I could get Annie go braid my hair.
as I changed, I started thinking about what they had to go through.
they lost their brother.
the world can be so mean.
but God needed him up in heaven.
I shook myself out of my thought and walked into Annie's room. she was vlogging, so I decided to go back later.
I waltzed downstairs excited for the day and headed into the kitchen for breakfast.
Yum, Mrs. Katie made pancakes, my favorite.
I ate, talking to her about how gymnastics had been going untillz everyone was ready to go.
we all raced to the garage and loaded into their large, black SUV.
but of course, me and Hayley still had to sit in car seats, which was a little bit of a bummer.
as we started, Mrs. Katie turned on the radio and began Vlogging.
~
"so, today we are headed to the beach, and we're really excited, right girls?"
she said, and we all cheered.
the rest of the drive there was just us talking about gymnastics and the dogs until we got there.
we all piled out of the car, running onto the hot, golden sand.
"I love, loveee the beach!" I yelled, running towards the water.
"wait, guys, let's do back handsprings into the water!" Yelled Annie, who was currently taking off her shoes.
"yeah!!" Hayley called back, as we all lined up near the water.
"1..... 2..... 3!"
we all did back handsprings, which they caught on video, and it looked really cool.
we all swam around until both of the parents called us up.
"Come sit, kiddos."
we all sat on the beach blanket, bright smiles still upon our faces.
"so, we need to ask you girls something. Hayley, I know Zoey's your best friend. we all love you like family, Zoey, and we're so sorry about what happened...." said Katie, who reached out her hand to hold mine.
I could feel tears welling up, I really wanted today to be a happy, sad free day.
but then she went on.
"We talked it over, and we were wondering if it would be okay for us to open our home up to you. We all love you, and we would love to be able to call you our own, we love you, Zo."
and of course, that got Annie and Hayley screaming, who knew nothing about this.
"OMGOMGOMG, please!!!!!!!" yelled Hayley, who jumped up to engulf me in a huge hug.
Annie also interjected "Yes!! you're another little sister to me, Zozo." and by now, everyone was hugging me.
and now I had to speak.
"I... I... I would love that." I was full on crying now, and I was so happy to finally have a real family. Ever since everything happened, I just desperately wanted someone to call mother and father, and a home. And not only do I have a family, I have the best one I could ever ask for.
we all jumped up and ran into the water, happy as could be.
today was already the best day ever.
