THE ASSASSIN OF THE MIST!

The water moved around as the boat moved slowly through the water, the only sound in the air was the water splashing of water. "This fogs so thick, you can't see anything." Sakura commented in a low voice as Naruto sniffed the air. "The bridge isn't far now. Our destinations just ahead, The Land of Waves." The man rowing the boat spoke "Humh?" Naruto questioned looking ahead, spotting a huge bridge that was under construction, everyone stared at the huge half way build bridge. From the angle the boat was in you could see how truly tall it was.

"Wow! It's Huge!" Naruto shouted a smile on his face "Quiet! I told you no noise. Why do you think we're traveling like this! Cutting off the engine and rowing, moving through the fog so they don't see us." The man rowing the boat whispered yelled at Naruto, Shade sighed looking at the man "We're sorry. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again." "Good." the man replied looking around the place, worried. "Mr. Tazuna." Kakashi started, looking at Tazuna sitting across from him. "Before we reach the pear I want to ask you something. The men who are after you, I need to know why. If you don't tell us I'm afraid I'll have to drop this mission when we get to shore." Kakashi finished eyeing on a nervous Tazuna. It was silent, everyone except you were staring at Tazuna, "I guess I have no choice but to tell you." Tazuna started looking up at everyone "No, I want you to know the truth, Like you said, this is beyond the scope of your original mission. The one who seeks my life is a very short man who cast a very long and deadly shadow." "A deadly shadow? Who is it?" Kakashi questioned "You know him, or at least I'm sure you've heard his name before. He's one of the wealthiest men in the world. The shipping magnet Gato." Both Kakashi and you looked at Tazuna in shock. "Gato? That one transporting guy?" You questioned, Sasuke, Sakura,Shade, and Naruto looking at you "Gato of Gato transports? He's a business leader, everyone knows him." Kakashi stated a little surprised.

"Gato is a powerful tycoon from a famous company, that's true. But below the surface, with the same ruthless method he uses to take over businesses and nations he sells drugs and contraband using gangs and ninjas. It was one year ago when Gato first set his eyes on the Land of Waves. He came to our island and used his vast wealth to take total control of our transport and shipping. Anyone who tried to stand in his way simply disappeared. In a island nation a man who controls the sea controls everything. Finance, government, our very lives but there's one thing he fears. The bridge. When it's complete it will join us to the land and that will break his control. I am the bridge builder." Tazuna explained looking up at the half built bridge. Everyone stared at him in silence for a while.

"So that's it. Since you're in change of the bridge you're standing in this gangster way." Sakura said as Sasuke looked at the bridge saying "That means those guys we fought in the forest, they were working for Gato." "Hmmmm..." Naruto hummed as he thought about what Tazuna had said. "I don't understand, if you knew he was dangerous, knowing he send ninjas to eliminate you, why did you hide it from us?" Kakashi asked. Tazuna looked at Kakashi, then explained "Because the land of waves is a small and poor nation. Even our nobles have little money. The common people who are building the bridge, they can't pay for a A or B ranked mission, it's too expensive, if you end the mission when you drop me assure their will be no bridge. They'll assassinate me before I reach home."

'I know where this is going I've heard it all' you sighed as Tazuna continued to speak. "But don't feel bad about that. Of course my sweet little grandson will be upset, he'll cry "Granddad! I want my Granddad!" Oh and my daughter will condemn the ninja of the hidden leaf denouncing and blaming you for abandoning her father and leaving her life in sorrow. Aw, well it's not your fault. Forget it." "So Father, what's the plan?" Shade asked looking at Kakashi " well, I guess we have no other choice, We'll have to keep guarding you." Kakashi answered "I'm very grateful." 'Of course you are..' Shade sighed.

Everyone was patiently waiting for the village to soon appear. Entering a some what tunnel looked towards the exit where you could see some sort of pillar of light. After finally crossing that pillar of light a beautiful village was seen, you had arrived at your destination. Arriving at shore, everyone got off the boat, Naruto first, Kakashi following, Sasuke, Shade, Sakura then you, Tazuna last.

You looked at Kakashi as you heard a sigh escape his lips, right away you knew what he was thinking 'the next ninja they send won't be Chunin but Jounin. This means we'll all be in greater danger my kind of thing' you thought as Kakashi called for Shade. "Shade." "Yeah what is it Kakashi?" Shade answered looking back up at him "Go look around the village for any suspicious people who might hurt or kill Mr. Tazuna." Shade stopped walking as everyone stopped to look at her "Understood. We'll meet up later then." Shade said, poofing away.
