Chapter 9;
A Day OffNikole's POV! <<<
I step out into the small breezy day. Glancing left, I stare down the street, Angie just ran down a moment ago.
My thick eyebrows furrow, as a scowl is plastered on my face. Stepping back into the heated house, I slam the front door shut. Tracing my jaw where I took a pretty hard hit, I knew there was going to be a bruise tomorrow. "That little bitch!" I hiss as the pain finally rushes to my jaw.
I clenched my hands into fists at my sides, as my body trembles with anger. "Oh she is so going to get the--" Before I could finish my sentence, Katherine and David walk into the room with rasied eyebrows.
They stop a few feet in front me, before they turn their backs on me and focus there attention on Olivia who bolts down the stairs almost missing the last two. Once she reaches the bottom and sees us three staring at her, she fidgets for a moment.
"What the hell happened?" David spat, with a hint of anger in his tone.
Olivia opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. She stood there for a few seconds before meeting my gaze. Slowly, her eyes widened and she took a step forward. "What the hell? I--Is that a bruise on your jaw Nikole?"
With that, Dave and Kathrine spun around with wide eyes, and examined my jaw.
Rolling my eyes, I heave out a sigh and turn my gaze away from them. "It's nothing," I protested. Before I could make my escape, Kathrine stepped forward and held her hands up to my cheeks, and looked more closely. "That does not look like nothing, Nikita!" She crossed her arms over he chest. "What in the world happened?"
I look anywhere but at them. I clear my throat before I start having a silent conversation with myself.
What are you doing Nik? Get ahold of yourself! Why are you just standing there? Tell them what happened already!
But why the hell would I tell them, when it will only lead to the incident when I decked Angie in the face in the car? I can't explain that to them. I did it for my own entertainment, and the hell, even if they found out I touched a hair on Angie, there would sure be major consequences. They always want me to be the bigger person. How can I when Angie is slowly inching her way to the top, past me? She can't just come in here, and take my position it took me years to gain!
