Chapter 8;
VacationAngie's POV
It's been only a couple hours since I practically ran away. I know it will only take just a couple more days for them to find me. But I am going to enjoy the time I have.
After running what seemed about eight miles, I finally reached my destination. The train stop.
Approaching the small building infront of the railroad tracks, I pant heavily glaring at the young woman behind the glass window. "Hello. How can I help you?" She questioned in an all to cheerful voice. "When is the next train?" I questioned, in between huffs. Glancing at her watch, she sent me a cheeky smile. "You're in luck. The next; and last train comes in five minutes, and I was just about to close up the ticket stand. How many tickets?"
That's when I just noticed the time. 11:48. "Um, 1 ticket," I said not really paying attention.
After she printed out the ticket, she handed it to be. "Your train number will be 353, and the third train stop area to the right. That'll be 10.65."
Pulling out some spare crisp singles, I counted out eleven singles before handing it to her. "Keep the change." I muttered.
She quickly handed me the recite sending me a small wave."Enjoy the train ride."
Taking a right, I trudge to the third train stop spot. I sit on the cold metal bench a few feet away from the tracks.
I slipped out my phone from my back pocket knowing exactly who I had to call.
I pulled the phone up to my ear counting the rings before someone picked up.
One...
Two...
Three...
"Hello, Angie."
I straightened my posture.
"Katerina." I dully said.
"It's been awhile." She said in a calm tone.
"Yeah, I guess so," I stated rolling my eyes after realizing she couldn't see me.
"What's on your mind?"
I cleared my throat. "Do you remember how you had told me you would always be there for me when I needed help? With anything?" I dont bother waiting for a response. "Well, nows the time."
Flashback
It was back at the orphanage. I was ten. We had a new kid arriving. Katerina. She was 15 at the time. I minded my own business, staying out of her way. She seemed like the type you didn't want to cross. And, I stayed away from her. Until, two weeks and three days after she arrived. We were gathered in the cafeteria. All 134 of us. I was walking with my tray in hands, in search of an empty lunch table. But knowing my clumsy ass, I wasn't that lucky as I was hoping that day.
Katerina had all ready seemed to be the leader of all the kids. The younger ones and the older. She was walking over to the line, with both her side chick's behind her. Quinn and Faith.
Being the stupid kid I was, I ducked my head as she started to walk in my direction to get to the line. So, I pretty much didn't know where I was walking.
I soon found out when I heard a thump, and then a high pitched scream. Looking up, I found my lunch splattered all over the one and only Katerina. A disgusted look etched acrossed her face as she looked at her now food covered outfit. She snapped her head in my direction. "Ugh! This was a one of a kind Archer Howard outfit! And you ruined it!"
