22:00 HOURS APRIL 1ST 2013 jump city

I sat perched on a flag pole looking down over the empty police parking lot, staring at the one car remaining. It belonged to S.W.A.T officer Branden. He used to work in Gotham until he got some bad press and Commissioner Gordon was forced to fire him. Batman told me that he had caused a lot of trouble so he wasn't much of a loss; however there wasn't any solid evidence to this so he was still able to get a job, especially in a corrupt place like Jump City.

I was brought out of my trance by the sound of the door opening and steel toed boots hitting the asphalt. I jumped down and saw Branden walking out of the building in his uniform, his eyes widening as I landed.

"I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you a few questions." I said mockingly, leaning with my shoulder against the bumpy concrete wall. "I'd suggest you answer them."

"Oh yeah." He said, pulling out his gun and pointing it at me. I quickly grabbed his wrist twisted it to his back and slammed him up against the wall.

"You know, I wouldn't really suggest doing that Branden." I said, pushing him harder against the wall. "See, if you can answer questions properly I'll let you go, but if you lie to me, there's a good chance I'll break your arm."

"Okay, but you might want to ask my friend for permission." He said, laughing at me.

I glanced over to the right in confusion and saw a steel helmet with two white eyes. I quickly smashed Branden's head into the wall and flipped back into the parking lot, drawing a few birdarangs.

"Come on Robin, don't be that way." He said, pulling out a few throwing knives and taking a fighting stance. "Besides, this is no day for you to be fighting."

I through my birdarangs, trying to through him off guard for a close range attack, but he individually through all of his knives to block each one of them, he quickly drew both of his pistols and pointed them at me. I dropped a smoke bomb and launched my grapple up to a building where I quickly turned around to see Ravager coming quickly up to me, a grappling gun in his hands.

"Come on Robin, this isn't any time to be running away." He said, putting away his grappling gun. "I just want to talk; this is a special day after all."

"What are you talking about Ravager?" I asked, taking out my escrimas and flicking them out of their collapsed mode. "It's just another day."

"Do you really want to fight me?" he asked, drawing the sword from his back. It was a European broad sword with a medium reach. "It's your birthday after all."

My eyes widened under my mask and I thrusted forward, my right escrima being easily parried, but the second strike hitting him dead in the gut, and I flipped him over so that he landed behind me. "What are you talking about?" I asked, trying to keep my voice as light as possible.

"Come on Big guy, we both know that's not the truth." He said, struggling to get up from the ground. "Now why don't we be reasonable, or would you prefer me to take out your friends?"

"AHHHHHHHHHH!" I shout, round house kicking him in the chest and sending him across the roof. "Why don't you just shut the hell up?!"

"Well, that definitely hit a nerve." He said gruffly, getting up from the ground again. "I guess I've got that part done, so how about you let me get out of here?"

"Hell no!" I shouted charging at him as he put his sword away. I jumped kicked him in the chest, sending him into a window of the building next door. I jumped in again and looked around the room, seeing a copying machine and a printer, but no Ravager. "Damn it; how did he know it was my birthday?"

I jumped out of the building and looked over towards the bay, remembering what Ravager had said to me.

"Or would you prefer me to take out your friends." His voice echoed in the back of my head as I put my Escrimas away.

I walked into the dark room, taking off my helmet to reveal my blonde military haircut. "Looks like you were wrong about his birthday after all." I said, putting my helmet under my arm. "Why would you think it's today anyway?"

"I know it's his birthday." He answered, his hand resting on his helmet. "I know quite a few things about him, and his father."

"Then why didn't he respond to that?" I asked a rare amount of smugness showing in my voice. "All he did was attack me after I told him happy birthday."

"That was a response, just not what you expected." He answered, still not showing interest in me. "Still, it seems he's closer to the Titans than Batman right now, I'll have to adjust my strategy."

"Give me any orders that are necessary sir." I said, standing up into my trained military pose. "I'll make any necessary adjustments."

"Get me the maps of the sewers under Jump city." He said happily, a devious smile on his face. "And have a few more of that nano virus' made up for me. Why don't you make it enough to take out seven grown men."
