Brad put the key to his house in the lock, fidgeting with it for a second till it unlocked, then he pulled the door open, walking inside. It was dark inside no one had come home yet Connor guessed. He wondered about brads family. Did he have any siblings? A mom and dad? Pets?
"My moms still at work." He murmurs half to himself, glancing around his empty house after flicking on the lights. okay so he has a mom. Connor says to himself as he glances around the house carefully. He noticed pictures hanging on the walls of a young brad, and of a man and a woman who he believed to be his parents. there was also a picture of his dad, in a army uniform that caught Connors eye. Brad noticed him looking at the picture of his dad and smiled
"He serves in the army," he says walking up behind the curious boy, "this is his tenth year." He finishes putting a hand on cons shoulder. A sorry feeling for brad shoots through Connor as he looks at the picture of his father. Connor wouldn't be able to handle it if his dad was never around him, let alone fighting in the war.
"Your d-dad must be a-an mazing p-person." He looks at brad who is smiling sadly at the photo of his father and nods.
"He is" brad now looks at Connor. "But we should start on the project, come with me." He beacons con to follow him up the stairs to his bedroom, where he flops on his bed leaving the other boy standing awkwardly near the door.
"You can sit." Brad assured him, patting the empty space on his bed. Hesitatingly, Connor agrees climbing up next to him.

"You know I have an idea!" Brad looks up from the papers scattered on his comforter and at Con. "We don't know much about each other."
"W-what do y-you mean?" Connor asks, tilting his head questioningly.
"I just would like to get to know you better," Brad shrugs, it being his turn to blush for once. "You should tell me one thing about you and I'll do the same."
"Like w-what?" Connor frowns a little and Brad thinks for a second.
"My full name is Bradley Will Simpson," Brad says "now you tell me something!"
"Umm, m-mines Connor S-Samuel John B-Ball..." Connor looks at the ground as he gives Brad his full name. Brad nods and the game continues. It was kind of like twenty questions to Connor, who had played the game many times before. They went through many questions as they worked on their math together. Connor seemed to be bonding more with brad that anyone back in Aberdeen. he didn't want to hide from the curly-haired boy anymore, he wanted to let him in.
"Umm, sexuality?" Connor ends up asking, not even sure why. He was almost one 100% Brad was straight. he was preparing for disappointment but brads answer took him by surprise.
"Bi." he says simply "I'm bisexual."
"Your pretty-y confident." Connor frowns at the ground, jealous. He had always thought confidence was fucking sexy. But he was so shy that he could never even interact with anyone like that. He barely even had a crowd or a clique at school.
"I don't have a reason not to be," Brad smiles at Con "how about you?" Brad can't help but wonder if Connor will tell the truth. He knows he's lied in a game like this before. And so had his friends. It was funny how much people guarded the secrets as if it would end them if it got out some how. He had always admired the honest people in the world.
"Me?" Connor looks up hoping that someone would randomly walk into the room. But it was just brad and Connor. "I-I'm g-gay." Connor murmurs barley audible, yet brad still catches it. Even though brad was basically half gay, Con still looked at him like he was expecting the brunette to be disgusted with him. Are his parents not okay with this? Brad asked himself as he looks at the boy.
"Hey," he places his hand under the other boys chin, pulling it up so he could look him in the eyes. "Don't be ashamed." He smiled, make Connor feel comfortable. He was right, too. nothing was going to change the way he felt.
"A-alright." he nods, a little more confidently causing brad to smile proudly like he was watching someone he loves accomplish all their goals. Like he cared for the brunette boy just as much as he cared for him.
