Light flitted through the half-closed blinds. Two figures lay near the window. One laying on the couch, the other slouched by the couch. The one on the couch shifted slightly, chest heaving rhythmically. His silent sleep shattered by the morning calls of birds and the constant drill of a nearby construction. A loud slam shot the man up and out of his sleep. Sasuke blinked blearily, groaning softly. The light was blinding. And the left side of his chest was pulsing unevenly. Another loud slam echoed through the neighbourhood. He sighed as he realized what had wakened him. Leaning back on his elbows, he slouched his shoulders and gave a soundless yawn. He noted the time on the clock fixed on the jutting wall-8.46am. He let the air out of his nostrils. Dropping his head to his right, he saw Sakura. Her left arm supported her head as she slept, the rest of her body and legs sprawled stiffly on the carpeted floor. Sasuke frowned. That could leave some uncomfortable muscle aches later on... He quietly shifted off the burlap pillows. He wrapped his arms around Sakura's shoulders and hefted her up to the couch. That one move made his chest clench painfully. He sighed. Of all the side-effects of his eating problems...
He bent down to Sakura's sleeping form and whispered,

"Thank you Sakura."

He stood and turned on his heel. The moment his toes left the ground, Sakura spoke.

"Are you going to say thank you and leave again?"

Her voice held something of dripping venom and remorse all in one.

Sasuke landed back on the carpet and sighed. He glanced back slightly to see Sakura sitting up. Her eyes shone in the dim morning light that was blocked by the shades.

"It's clear in my conscience that I'm not wanted here. He wouldn't have forgotten me if he intended on my return."

Sakura didn't need to think twice who he was referring to...

Sasuke glared with uncapped fury at the ground. Even when he was angry he looked beautiful. His elegant figure wrapped in ribbons of pain. Slender hands tightened into balls.

"Why did he forget me?" He whispered softly.

"He didn't do it purpose Sasuke. He really didn't."

Sakura visibly winced at the memory of why Naruto forgot him. Looking at Sasuke now, she actually felt regretful for what she had agreed to...but then again, Naruto was in so much pain. She didn't have the heart to see her friend Break down. Not then that is.
It was at that moment that Sasuke choose to let loose a few emotions.

"Then why? Why did he have to leave me when he promised me? When he promised me...."
His voice rose a few above his normal tone and his glare intensified two-thirds its normal one. It was currently quite obvious he was trying to cover his bursting emotions with something of plain anger.

Sakura muttered softly a pained whisper, "we had to do it. We had to."

She watched sullenly as emotions she never saw from the man came pouring out in doubles. Sadness and pain. Then anger and jealousy. It was quite amazing how he could fit all those emotions into his facial muscles.

"Tell me about it. What happened. Why did he forget me?"

Sakura nodded, the words she never longed to say at the tip of her tongue. She gestured for Sasuke to sit, which he did, his face of undeniable defiance. Sakura stuttered at the first breath she let out.

She never longed to say those few words but she had to.

"Before I begin, will you be willing to listen to a few things Sasuke-kun?"
