The air in Konohagakura carried a breeze of danger. A figure zipped through the shedding trees, almost impossible to notice. Autumn was at its brink. The cape the man wore fluttered in the billowing winds. The folds of silk opened to reveal a
hitai-ate embossed with the konoha leaf symbol. A deep line slashed across the symbol.

This man was the infamous missing-nin from Konoha- Uchiha Sasuke.
He was making his way back to his old home. But he wasn't so sure that they would accept him back...

After much travel, he was finally back to Konoha. Clad in black and looking very suspicious, the Uchiha skipped the gates to avoid meeting any problems. He jumped roof after roof, winding through the quiet alleys with all but one reason in mind- to meet to the expectations of a promise made ten years ago.

He darted through the light-hearted
chatters of the countrymen and shinobi. Often, he heard of the recent Nanadaime's good work. Nanadaime... Sasuke had even missed the rokudaime's time.

He faintly wondered of who the Hokage was. Maybe it was Naruto. The Uchiha chuckled lightly at the memories of Naruto he had left.
You were always thinking of being the Hokage. Such a loser. Then something hit the almighty Uchiha- where was Naruto? He smacked his head harshly, a curse leaving his thin lips. Since when was he so stupid? Deciding to take his chances, Sasuke dropped into the hoards of people crowding around the streets.

He dropped in front of a Chuunin shinobi. The man backtracked two steps in shock.

"Do you happen to know the recent Hokage's name?" He muttered, skipping the politeness.

The shinobi turned, eyes wide in shock from the fact this man did not know the Hokage's name...had he been sleeping for two years?

"You don't know? It's Uzumaki Naruto."

Something sounding suspiciously like glass crashed into a wall and caught fire in Sasuke's conscience. Sasuke swallowed, mouth hanging open slightly. His lips moved soundlessly as nothing came out. Naruto? Naruto? Uzumaki Naruto? He really did it?
Stuttering a word of thanks to the shinobi, Sasuke trailed off into the crowd.

Sasuke now stood in front of the Hokage building, heart thumping a little too fast. Fifteen minutes ago he had been in a dango shop chewing ferociously on Dangos. It was a secret indulgence. Besides, it gave him time to think about what he should do. He had come back to help fulfill Naruto's promise. But now did he really dare? Disturb the Hokage during work hours that is...
Taking a deep breath, Sasuke straightened his shoulders and stalked in.

The clipping sound of boots on wood made its way to the secretary's ears. Shikamaru raised his eyes lazily from his assortment of paperwork and nearly tumbled out of his seat.
