When I enter the class I sit in my seat which is right behind Jessica. During the whole class period I can't help but think why everyone was staring at me.

When the bell rings to dismiss us to our next class I gather my things and wait for Jessica to gather hers. This is something I've always hated about Jessica. She always takes her sweet time gathering her stuff.

It feels like a thousand years have passed by the time she's done gathering her things. As we make our way to the door I can't help but ask her why everyone is staring at me.

"I don't know, maybe it's because your outfit looks good?" She says with a smile.

"Yours is even better" even though she is just wearing sweats and a pink nike sweater she still manages to look better then me. Shoot she could be wearing a trash bag as a dress and she would still look good!

I start to walk towards my next class and stop when I hear Jessica call my name.

I turn around and ask her what's wrong

Once she reaches me she tells me to turn around. Once I am turned around she pulls something off my back pack.

"You had a chewed gum on your bag, that's why everyone was staring at you" she says. I can't help but laugh.

"Well I better get to class, I'll see you at lunch Jessi" I say with a smile.

She returns the smile and walks the opposite way of me. Thank god I have a friend like her. She keeps me sane.

I walk into my next class and it goes by quick. Same for 3rd hour, 4th hour, and 5th hour. It's finally lunch time and I go to the table we usually sit at.

As I start to approach the table I notice that their is a guy sitting their with Jessica. He is no where near ugly.

I finally reach the table. He looks even better up close.

"Leah, this is Mark, he just moved here today and the principle asked me to show him around school but I just remembered that I have an orthodontist appointment and I will be leaving in a few minutes. Can you show him around for me please? I promise I'll make it up to you, plus you guys have a few classes together"she practically begs me to do her this favor.

Mark smiles at me and quickly looks down at the ground. I can't believe I agreed to this.

She leaves shortly after she introduces Mark and I as promised. So here I am. Stuck with the new kid and with nothing to talk about. Great.
