You looked around, bewildered and frightened at the same time. The room was too dark to see anyone, but you could hear them- their heartbeat. Rapid footsteps echoed down the hall of the warehouse- and the only door to the room was kicked open, smacking the wall and chipping off part of the concrete it was made of.

Two people- two heartbeats. One pumping fast with adrenaline- the other steady. How could they be so calm? They had just ran down a hallway and kicked a door open.

The already quick heart beat even faster when the light from outside seeped in to reveal a bloodied woman on the floor. Her eyes were glazed over, staring into nothing. Her throat was mangled and torn. Her limbs stuck out at odd angles.

You hurriedly wiped at your mouth with the hem of your shirt. Dark red smudged into the fabric. Oh, no, had you-?

"Dean." The calmer heart said. Footsteps grew louder, until they still directly in front of you.

You kept your head down, using your dirty (H/C) hair as a curtain to hide the evidence that you had been the one to cause such damage to the poor twisted woman.

You hadn't meant to- you were on blood bags. You were a lone vamp- your last nest only ate fresh, and you couldn't stand it. How had you relapsed?

"Are you okay?" Dean (the rapid heart) asked.

You craned your neck up slowly, and a green pair of eyes widened in alarm. He raised a glinting machete, and you felt tears begin to gather in the corners of your eyes. "I'm sorry." You murmured, not sure if they could hear you.

The calmer heart touched the other's wrist. "Dean, no."

"Why not, Sam? She's dangerous- she'll kill again if we don't stop her."

The slower heart, Sam kneeled down , his face inches from yours. "Y/N?" He asked.

"Sam?" You breathed weakly. "Sam Winchester?"

"After you left me that night, I thought everything was going to be okay. But I was leaving work the next day and Darus caught me on the way out. I had no other choice at first- I was confused, and hungry. I joined his nest, but after a while I knew draining as many people as we were was wrong."

"Draining anybody is wrong." Dean cut in. Sam hushed him.

"I got in touch with another vamp who ordered in blood bags."

"Why's that girl dead then?" The older brother pressed. You shifted uneasily in your seat at the booth.

"Dean, calm down." Sam told him in a quieter tone. A few people had turned to look at the three of you.

"I didn't mean to. I left the nest, so I wouldn't be tempted to go back to live blood."

"You couldn't help it." Sam figured it out.

"I don't even remember doing it. I just saw her, and all she had was a paper cut, like something from Twilight. And then I came back and you two were there and now I feel awful," as an after thought, you added, "Maybe I deserve to have my head hacked off."

"No, no, we're going to fix this, Y/N," Sam consoled, placing a supportive hand over yours. How you wished to feel your own heartbeat- to have warmth return to your body! "Right, Dean?"

"Only way to do that is find Darus."

"And then?" You met Dean's gaze hopefully.

"Decapitate."
